You can get the ticket out of the car park machine when you go sainsburys......

That looks like a good car & if its been done well over to rhd then it would not bother me.

If the HPi history doesn't scare you, this one looks good:

I called about this car tonight funnily enough and told it's Cat C registered not that really that should detract if the rest checks out with an inspection to what could be a great car. I love it but there are those that shudder at Cat C

I would be worried about the water damage especially if it was salt water.

I revived a friends car that got fully submerged in the Thames (literally all you could see was the roof six inches under the water). The water forced itself into everything. I gets into every possible crevice and a few you'd think were impossible. The car was basically ruined. every part of the wiring loom, interior, engine and transmission was beyond hope. We dried it out and he drove it for a few months before it collapsed and died. No doubt it would have rusted from the inside out if it had survived long enough.

Actually that's a very good point

Sorry for my ignorance but why would you convert a LHD to a RHD? Especially if it’s a track focused car where it wouldn’t matter so much anyway? Surely the 964 was conceived, designed and balanced for a LHD in the first place.

It probably hasn't been submerge in the Thames though as it says it suffered some damage while at a garage in a storm - needs investigating as it might be a really nice car.

The simple answer is most of us wouldn't! It's difficult to understand why the guy had it done. Factors might be that a long time ago LHD 964s were much cheaper in the UK (not now though), he couldn't get on with it being LHD and that RHD are theoretically better balanced for clockwise circuits (which most in the UK are).

Paul, the current owner and seller, knows his onions and he would have only bought this car if he was sure it was done properly. All 911s are essentially LHD shells and therefore the RHD ones are conversions albeit they are done by the factory. If you want a car for mostly track work and to keep, this one is well worth looking at. I've seen it and it is stunning. If you're worried about future re-sale then it probably isn't the one for you.

Hope that helps.

It is - I'm interested to know who the buyer is!

Wonder how they'll use the car as it's so niche in its model/ mods combination....

The 964 I have now is my first Porsche/vw I have had in rhd and have always had left hand drive on my German stuff & if when I was looking I found a left hooker at the time that would have been my preference...funny as the wife also loves driving lhd cars more so than rhd...

No problem with LHD motors from my perspective especially if it’s an air cooled. Was looking a LHD VW split screen camper the other day.

Is there an insurance premium for LHD? Bet there is, Wa67ers! lol
