Why wouldn't you spend a day with a bucket and sponge and a few wrenches making it look less like a wreck? Is it actually being mocked up to be a 'Romantically intriguing barn find' to raise it's appeal?
I don't get it.....

Sometimes the seller could not be arsed to prep the car but other times its to hide certain flaws underneath the grime.

Honest question guys. Why are the 964's so overpriced over in the UK/Europe?

48K GBP? That is 97K CAD! For that money the car should be either absolutely stone cold nuts perfect or ??

Very interested to hear your opinions. (PS There is a thing called the 'Big Mac' index to compare relative inflation. A quick google search says a Big Mac Meal is around 5.46 GBP = $11 Cad).

Over here it's around $8.50 Cad for a BMM.

Its not just cars but all goods, if a pair of jeans costs $50 in states it will be £50 here in UK which is roughly $78. Sales tax at %20 is a big reason as is income tax which starts at roughly 30% and goes upto 60%, transportation is also a lot more expensive due to cost of fuel .... Due to shortage of land, housing & premises premises are also a lot more and all this has a relevance on cost of goods & services (labour).

Besides all this the US market is the largest in the world, it accounts for over 30% of Porsche sales worldwide so they make special concessions for that market in their pricing structure - importing used cars from US is not cheap as you have to pay import duties and sales tax which adds 25% to price and that's on top of freight costs and vehicle tests & possible mods. In case of UK after all that you end up with a LHD car whereas classic RHD cars are generally more expensive due to their more limited worldwide supply.

It's only in the last couple of years that prices have shot up. Prices have doubled in that time in my estimation. The price rise has been fueled by panic buying....people are buying now because they think if they don't buy now, it will be too late. This is the same for most of the air-cooled and GT3 models. Given that there is such demand and the fact that there are rarely more than 100 x 964s up for sale in the UK at any one time, it's easy to see why prices go up each time one is sold.

It looked like a non-sunroof car too. My guess we'll see it for sale again in a few weeks for more ££!
