That makes the Cobalt one I posted above seem positively expensive - didn't think C2 Manual Cabs were going this low.

Does anybody know the following cars at all..

http://www.eporsch.co.uk/C2CRed26.htm

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...manual/3942966

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...--1990/2171556

The one at eporsch is the one I want, but slightly out of my budget, will give them a call this week, but doubt I will be able to go for that one.

Second one looks decent, don't think I could keep up the concours condition using it like I will be. And not sure about the last one.

Second one was "once" a concours car, I wouldn't worry about how you want to use it, as long as an inspection shows its ok . Love that "pristine" engine bay

The first one has been for sale at eporsch since at least last Summer (when it was a couple of grand less, if I remember correctly).

The second was advertised four weeks ago (see page 131) for £3k more- so much for 'I'm more than happy to keep it and benefit from it appreciating'. It looks anything but concourse and I'd give it a miss because of the 'tone' of the ad, but maybe that's just me.

The third one I haven't seen before and looks like it's been loved and has a comfortable home, but no service stamps since '96 and -what looks like- only an oil change in '11 will hurt you in the resale, regardless of what the owner had done himself. I'd want to see a more recent date & paperwork for the engine rebuild at least.

If the top two were great cars, they would have sold already, so out of these I'd pick the third, though it seems a little overpriced given the mileage.

Once you've decided to sell a car, its rare you change your mind and keep it. So I think he does want to sell. The tone of the ad isn't welcoming I admit.

Pricing is difficult, even in the last 6 months or so, £5-10k has been added to the asking prices from what I've seen? One came up local to me, but before I'd had chance to view the car it was sold. That was up for £38k and was advertised for less than 24hrs.

They look overpriced for a private sale ... This is where the market is at now (looks like it sold last week).

Aren't C4 normally a bit cheaper?

The market is a bit crazy, hard to know what the value is of anything. I thought £30k would get me a decent C2 Manual, but struggling to find one for less than £35k now. I know it's been asked a lot, but are the prices likely to crash or keep rising? Surely they aren't going to keep going up?

Not sure why you think these are overpriced just because its a private sale, all three cars look good examples and as I mentioned in a thread on 911uk now that sc`s and 3.2`s are looking for 35-60k a decent 964 C2 should be around the 40k mark minimum

The C4 in question belonged to a guy on here and had a nice £8k interior with a rare colour combo all of which add to the value.

I have been looking for a 3.2 and £40k would get a similar spec one from a reputable dealer so by your logic 964 should be cheaper, and that's not even accounting for dealer prices (& warranty).

mmm not sure I follow your logic on my logic anyhow I had seen the hairpin car which looks very nice and looks cheap compared to a lot of the IB cars advertised at the moment I would like to know who carried out the bodywork/repairs to confirm the quality of the work. Not sure what kind of warranty your going to get on 25 year old cars from dealers other than your statutory rights from buying from a dealer, which is really my point there is a lot of pretty average/poor 77-89 cars in the price bracket mentioned previously and if these are actually selling then why is it unreasonable that the 964 is not in the same range .

Chums, I've got the inside track on a 1991 120k miles C2. Light met blue (not sure of colour name yet) with linen sports seats. FSH. Unmolested example. It's going to be circa £33k. Private sale

I've just returned from Manila (not connected) so trying to catch up on emails etc and will post more when I have it.

My gut feel, based simply on looking at the adverts, is the third one is the one most worth looking at and seeing where an offer gets you. Unless you are an expert, worth shelling out on a Peter Morgan report. Worth every penny in my book. Happy hunting.

I could be interested in this, more info would be appreciated! Thanks.

I will be getting a Peter Morgan or similar report regardless of what I buy or where I buy it from. Not sure if Peter Morgan offers nationwide coverage? Not looked into it fully yet to be honest.

I'm not to sure about the splitter on the bumper on the third one, it could just be the pictures though to be honest. And the possible gap in service history is a little off putting maybe?
