Default Best strut brace for 964

I want to install a strut brace in my car, I need your advice on the best cost/benefit ratio strut brace to buy, it has to be a seller that will accept Paypal and ship overseas (Argentina) I was thinking on the one Vertex sells (Schnell brand)

Thanks for your help

I like my Perfect Power Brace.....

No idea about their accepted payment / shipping. (their email is perfectpowerinc at gmail d0t com)

I like the matte finish and that it fits under the carpet.

I forget what brand I have. I like that it fits under the carpet as well. I have a question though. Really, could anyone outside of the sponsored race scene really expect to tell the difference from one brace to the next?

I'm going for a KLA strut brace, I have one on my 951 and it has awesome quality and fit, very very good price.

Agreed with Kai. I noticed right away a slightly quicker steering response. It felt a little better. But the difference for street is marginal and honestly unnecessary. In fact, you are likely to total the car in a front end impact because you are tying the front end together. So you will bend both sides in the impact. That said, if you are looking for a few tenths of a second on a track, yeah, it's a good idea. I like mine. No idea which type it is. It's a copy of a brace used in the 70's on 911 race cars. Fits under the carpet. Is solid from end to end. And was 150 dollars, so no huge expense to try one out. Found it on eBay. With regard to this type of upgrade, go "cheep but good". You won't get more value out of spending more.

Fwiw, mine is the Cosmo racing strut brace. Just saw one on eBay. Couldn't remember the name before.

I would have thought the GT2 fixed one would bring the best results

I've currently got a standard carbon brace, which does make a difference, even on the street but would prefer the GT2 one

Good luck finding one of these!

I have the OEM Porsche RS brace (made by Matter if I recall correctly) as well as one from 911 Chips (Steve Wong.) Both are nice. The RS one now costs a lot more.

Correction: the OEM RS brace is made by Heigo.

The KLA bar is nicely made and quite stout but there is one thing I noticed about it when installing one on my buddies 993. The mounting plates are quite thick and do not allow the nuts to have full thread engagement. This is a big issue for me as it is a definite safety concern. I am a commercial aviation mechanic and have been trained to never do this. Inspection will not buy off on nuts that do not have at least 1 thread showing beyond the nut with a maximum of 3, so I am not making this stuff up.

This is the bar I REALLY want ....

ThomasC2 has one but he's not selling

It was manufactured by Kremer (Cologne) and now out of production.

I've looked for anything connected with Fabspeed or Matter strut braces in the 964 and 993 forums, nothing since 2008 and nothing suggesting theyre not available only that they are the best option

Are you saying Fabspeed dont have them?
