Source for press-studs in frunk carpet?
Re-instating my frunk furniture, now I'm over 40
So, the moquette carpet is missing loads of the integral press-studs that snap onto the various mount points to hold it in place, and looks floppy and generally pretty poor. Someone must have been down the route of replacing these?
I doubt they are available from Porsche as they were originally bonded into the fabric?

I have been down this route..... You first have to sew the holes left behind in the carpet shut, then there is a tool much like pop-rivet pliers.... I am on a biz trip at the moment, but will check out the brand and model number when I get back. If you want to pay for postage both ways, you are welcome to borrow it and use some extra snaps. PM me with your details.

I got mine from john lewis haberdashery department, they are a standard size and shape, they sort of rivet in. If yours have pulled through and fallen off you may want to sew in some reinforcement, i used some black leatherette off cuts, cut into 2inch circles.

I fixed a snap on mine Jo Ann Fabrics had everything. snaps, the tools no issues.
I ordered the parts from Porsche and they came bronze but they should have been black. So I just used the Jo Ann fabric ones.
I used an iron on patch to fix around the hole in the carpet.

et voilà !
"While you are in there" you should consider spraying the back of the carpet with a clear spray, to stop the rubber from shedding everywhere

Laker,
were those 1.6cm snaps the exact replacment for the ones that pulled out from the carpet. ie. you didnot have to replace the male part of the snap that is attached to the car?
Cheers

Yes, I just sewed the hole in the carpet shut and used the tool to put the female black 'caps' in the carpet. Fit the existing male parts very well, just a wee bit tighter.
