C4 maintenance and TPC supercharger upgrade!

That was a close one. Glad you and the car are ok. I've seen cars totaled at both turns 2, 4 and 6. Laguna is a terrific track to drive but it doesn't forgive mistakes. The walls are closer than I would like.

I had a few car issues I'll document later (car is still in transport back from the sunny south) but I thought I'd post a little video from the second session on the last day: I entered turn 4 a little early and my slight correction caused a momentary loss of adhesion....I put in a complete lap first just to show I can drive without a spin.

I have been collecting some parts to have a go at version 2.0 but have not yet had time to do the work ytet.
I have a MAShaw GT1 wing with air intakes, a BMC filter, and a few different elbows to move the air intake up and get better air flow/cooler air in. Hopefully I'll get to modify the intake soon and insulate the water pipes better to help with the temperatures.

Instead I bought 2pcs 997 GT2RS air/air intercoolers and will fabricate one bigass cooler from them. (search s/n Basal Skull posts and you will find his DIY topic). If the GT2RS coolers are up to the task on a 620hp Porsche in factory trim, they should be able to coold down this measly 400hp engine imho.

Wow! Very nice!
I'd be interested to see how the a-to-a setup works - keep us all posted, please.
I have also been considering flushing the oil out of my RUF secondary oil cooler and using it as a second intercooler but I'll have to buy the right hose adapters first.

I finished my air/air intercooler setup and the initial results are out of this world!!
I drove the **** out of the car but could not get the IAT more than 2-3 degrees above ambient. First track test will on monday evening but already now i can tell you that the tpc provided air/water intercooler is garbage compared to these GT2RS cores... If you can live with a big wing, I seriously recommend this route! I have two coolers but I'm sure that even one cooler would be a lot better than the one provided with the kit. Check my thread on 993 forum about improving charge air cooling for more info.
Now i gotta go change the diaper for my 3 week old daughter.

Marc,
I noticed this impressive picture over at the "964s on track" thread.
Tell us more about the front bumper center section grill. Is air being directed through the grill to the two coolers on the side?

I just love those wheels on a 964!
