I had the car on jackstands for the past few months while I did a few things and I finally got it back on the road. It took waaayyy longer than I thought it would (not to mention my wife). Anyway here's what was done:

New Bilsteins
New H&R Reds (powdercoated black)
Polished secondary
Ceramic coated the Cup Bypass
Ceramic coated the Cat Bypass
Steve Wong chip
Repainted calipers and rotors (already had new pads)
New hard lines to the brakes (already did the stainless)
Powdercoated the engine tin
WEVO engine mounts
Rennline engine carrier brace (with powdercoat)

Along the way I scrubbed, polished and painted everything that I put my hands on. It was great getting her done before any more nice weekends slip by.

Here are a few pics.

Nice work man! The car looks prime!

Any trouble getting the old motor mounts out? Did you DIY the carrier brace, have it done locally, or send it to Rennline?

Thanks guys. I would NEVER have tried this if not for this place.

The motor mounts weren't hard. The brace took a little tweaking, grinding and bending to get things to line up right. A friend has a tig and was nice enough to weld it for me. The joints were a bit beefy so I ground a few of them down a little to smooth it out. Once it was powdercoated it looked really nice.

I will confess that I had the local shop that did the alignment do a once over for me to make sure things were solid (for peace of mind).

I'm really digging the luster in the paintwork, it looks almost new. What polishes/waxes do you use on it?

Thank you. Every other year I have it professionally detailed as I'm afraid I'll jack it up trying to polish it myself. In between I try to keep up the best I can. Before these pictures were taken I had just put a coat of Meguiars GoldClass Canauba Plus I picked up (at Target no less...).

Wise man, beefing up the engine carrier while putting in firmer engine mounts.
Peace of mind AND (handling) piece of ***.

Looking Good! How did you get the engine so clean? What products did you use?

I also like the Meguiars Gold Class and have been using it for years on my other cars too. Just for kicks I tried the new Turtle Wax Ice product. It looks and feels like baby oil but leaves a super shine. I like to use it on top of the Gold Class for a double sheen!

Sure, but I'll probably have to wait until the weekend so I can take a wheel off.

I've read enough stories to where it made me a bit nervous.

Thank you. I thought about doing orange accents everywhere but decided to leave it stock looking (but on mild steroids).

To be honest, it's got really low miles so that helps a ton. From there I just make sure I clean it every other wash or so. Also, when I pull something off it I clean it and all the areas that were hiding. That's one of the reasons I wanted to do all this stuff myself (I'm not sure I could find a shop willing to clean this much). It just takes forever. I'll have to give that Turtle Wax a try.

Thanks. Thanks.

I had a chance to take a few more pics. I should have taken decent pics of the engine tin before I started putting things back together (although I get excited to get things done). I still have a ways to go to get it as clean as I want but I'm getting there.
