Default Cup Bypass strap replacements

What kind of straps can be used to support a primary bypass pipe? I need to source some out and get mine mounted.

I used very large hose clamps (radiator-style).

Yes, that is what I was thinking. Do you know what diameter works?

Its going to be pretty large. The cup pipe is at least 3" in diameter, and the mounts around which they go add at least 4"

I don't recall, but I believe that they were the largest diameter that the hardware store carried. As mentioned, they need to go around the cup pipe and the mounting carrier. It should work! Good luck.

I would just look for new or reconditioned original straps.old straps.
If you have a porsche dismantler/parts center in the area it is not that hard. Most of the time you only have to replace the bolts. If you sandblast old ones which are in reasonably state, they can be like new again.

Somewhere someone posted that you could get similar straps at truck parts places.

"My clamp all tightened down is ~16"

Is that total length/circumference then? This would be around 5" diameter?

"The cup pipe is at least 3" in diameter, and the mounts around which they go add at least 4" .

7" diameter? 22" long?

Maybe this is an obvious question: How do bypass straps compare to the straps holding the stock muffler in place?

Default cup pipe straps

I went through this with my cup pipe and like was said before I went to the hardware store and picked up two hose clamps cost $4.00 American and works like a charm. Nut driver or screw driver and all is done. cup pipe sitting in the garage usin the G pipe now but time to switch back and enjoy the other sound for a while.

I've just drilled a hole part way down the original strap. When some come up I'll buy them. But all ok for now
