Default Door window scraper(?) seal

hi guys, so I've had my C4 a couple of years now and all that time I've wondered, if these seals (I think they are the "scraper" seals) were correct - they are about 2 inches shorter than the glass. I've slid the seal forward for the photo, but you can slide the seal to the middle to leave a much less obvious gap at each end.

Are your seals like this too? I'm sure they'd let loads of water in.

They shrink with time, easy to replace, pop trim off and slide new scraper in with a bit of lube!!

Is this what causes my windows to get all mucky after a wash or rain and I roll them down and back up?

How does the trim just pop off and does it just pop back in? Any pictures of the popping off procedure?
Mine are the same and it has been a source of torment for almost a year now.

I replaced mine years ago, its wasn't that difficult. As I recall it was like all my other Porsche projects, the first side takes an hour and the second side takes 15 min...

Lever the trim up from the B pillar end with a flat blade screw driver protected by a cloth then slide out the old and slide in the new. They're reasonably cheap parts but make sure you get L and R ones as required. I initially bought two left ones because I assumed there was just one part#.

Coupe part numbers:

Left = 911 531 931 02
Right = 911 531 932 02

Hi Alex, correct, new scrapers filled the gaps.

Isn't there also a felt strip below the rubber?

The felt on mine disintegrated, but I'm not sure if it was interior and/or exterior.

Yep if you look down if your replacing the outer scraper you can see it as it clips on to the inner door skin holes, my left hand inner scraper was rotten and I bet All our 964's are going that way as there getting on a bit now so worth having a peek as your there!!...

Thanks for the part numbers although the thought of levering up the trim worries me somewhat. Will the trim just clip back down?

Also while we're on about the trim - the corresponding trim on the rear windows on mine has a couple of blemishes which I'd like attending to. Do these just pop off also?

When I did the rubber I did the felt as well, the entire cost for both sides was $130.
