Default C4 wheels

I'm checking out a set of wheels, any thoughts on fitment for a '91 C4.

Fronts are 18x9 +44
Rears are 18x10 -8
5x114.3

I know there's no issue running staggered wheels on a C2, any problems with doing that on a C4?

114mm bolt circle? I think that's BMW fitment. So you're not getting past that. Not to mention negative offset is about 2" in the wrong direction for anything but probably a torsion bar widebody chassis.

Front recommended range ET 45-60 mm
Rear ET 58 mm

And I am pretty sure they were not anything but 5/130mm

I think it's VW/Audi.

It's actually Nissan. I thought I recalled that weirdo bolt pattern before.

What are your thoughts on staggered wheels on a C4? How will it affect the car?

Uh, every 911 since 1978 (not to mention turbos, and ROW cars like the Carrera 3.0 and '73 RS) have larger width rear wheels and tires.

Bottom line is that a 17" 7-7.5-8" front with a 225 tire, and a 9" rear with a 255 work just fine for 99.999999% of applications. Personally, I ran 8" front w/ 235 and 9" rear w/ 275, 17" diameter Toyo RA1 on the recently sold RSA. Need 1/4 spacing on the right rear to clearance the oil line, and it's really iffy doing that with stock length wheel studs.

My question was more specifically geared toward AWD cars. I know that most all 2wd cars have staggered wheels.
What affect on my C4 am I going to feel/notice if I'm running 8's up front and 10's in the rear?

Some of this stuff is a little new to me, so pardon my ignorance.

The factory C4 is staggered.

They do not recommend running the 10 on the rear of the C4.

I run 8X17 front 9.5X17 rear which is slightly larger than the D90s

10 works fine for many people.

I have ..
10ET40 with 265/35R18
8ET50 with 235/40R18

10ET40 requires full negative camber and a slight fender roll. Most people seem to use 10ET44 and report an easy install.

You've got two options here when choosing wheels ...
a) search threads and ask new questions
b) understand the dimensions & clearances and work it out yourself ....

During my research and many hours searching the forums here, I was never fully confident until doing my own calcs. Option B might be the quicker option.

I have been told not to run a 10 in on a C4 because it's hard on the drive system.

I haven't heard that before. Do you have a reference? If there is some truth to it, surely the wheel width is irrelevant, and it is really the tyre size that is important.

I have 265 on my C4 but I cannot imagine a huge difference compared to the 255 than most people use. It is only 10mm.

Anyway, at this stage, I don't believe your theory.

Nor have I. Diameter is diameter. I don't believe a 10" wheel is necessary for the use 99+% of cars will see, but if you want something that wide that's owner preference.
