I don't have any proof, nor any documentation, nor references, and you don't have to believe it if you don't want to.

It was just what I was told, it could be nonsense. It was just something that came up more than once when I was looking at wheel and tire combos:

Don't run a 10 on the rear and no bigger than an 18in tall rim. You can do whatever you want, put twenties on it for all I care. I don't have to live with it or pay for you diff if it blows up.

and that is 40mm from what the factory originally installed.
