The sunroof motors, sliders, cable if you need them!

What was weird was the sunroof panel, which had masking tape nice and yellow, possibly from factory.

Needless to say, my biking days are over, and once I'm fully recoved I'll be building a track 964, maybe 9 months away. Looking at availabilty and prices at the moment.

What a story! As you do!

Now is the time or excuse to build a track 964 John. As bikes are a killer no matter how careful, if it aint you its a friend you know! Every bikers the same, same story so may be its time to use that energy in building a nice tracker!

I think if you loved your RS back then, am sure this will make you smile again flooding back memories of it, well that is if you had it long enough!

Where abouts are you in the country?

The black headliner was carefully taken out as everycorner was either wrapped into the window edges or doors held on by very small metal clips.

Underneath the headlining are odd bits of foam, which am sure when the new roof goes on, bare and exposed its going to be loud with wind and road noise!!!!

Then came the dash......bit more fiddlier as theres odd bolts behing the fuel gauge and I think the clock? but a few under the screen dash vent trim.

The under dash is fiddly too, as theres a few bolts, especially behind the stereo which needs to be removed 1st!

Yep, loved the car, my wife drove it better and faster than me though lol

I love building stuff, I built my own track bike, and I'll do everything I can to build the car as well.

I'm in South Essex btw

Norm,

Have a good look at Pastel Beige
Beautiful cream. Solid color, no clear or Met, easy to repair.

Pastel beige is nice on an early 911, maybe not on the curvy plastic bumper model

But then pastel light green thats on the 356 and early beetles would look ace!

The front of the trunk, all the car pet was removed easily with the clip buttons. As the carpet is'nt going back on, the clips were taken off. Weird thing is that when taking the clips off, each one of them had a scratched arrows. I was wondering if this was a factory thing and if anyone else has got these as shown below?

The car goes on the ramp, finding out that the 964 are a bit of a short wheelbase car, thats not suited to older ramps

Time to check underneath, and to unscrew ALL that holds the undertrays, side sills, front and rear bumpers and arch liners!!!

Work is made harder with rusty bolts and screws!

Anyway, the arch liners came off, to realise the bolts for the front bumper!

Looks like ALL the screws, bolts even all the brackets that hold the bumpers, sills, arches all need replacing. SHOT would be the word!
