Default Cables under the drivers seat? Help!

Hi guys,

I'm re-routing some cables and I borrowed the pic below from another thread. There are 3-4 connectors under the seat (not counting the DME) and these cables/connectors are integrated in the thick harness to the DME box. You see most of them in the blue circle in the pic.

Question: Does anyone of these have any vital functionallity or are they just for the electric seat, seat heating etc? Is it OK to pull them apart and "hide" the cables?

Cheers,

Thomas

Yes, that's the power seat plug.

The other, smaller wire and plug is for the seatbelt warning indicator.

That picture is from a 3.2 Carrera chassis, not a 964. The connectors are listed in the electrical diagrams as well as the locations. Most of them are for the power seats, however, there are additional ones for the DME and depending on year, country coding plugs. Many of these wires are power / ground, so you'll need to be careful how you "hide" them.

Yes, the picture isn't correct. I just meant to show the "area" I was talking about. Good point about the power in the connectors. OK, I'll try to check the electrical diagram. I'm moving the DME to the Cup-location on the rear seat wall.

OK, I had a look in the diagrams but it's not that easy. I found these connectors under the left seat according to the diagram, but I don't know what they do. Are they active in my C2 or are they for Tiptronic or C4?

1 Pressure sensor
2 Map-alteration switch
3 Variant identification switch

I left out the connectors for the seats.

Thanks,

Thomas

Does anyone have a part number for that connector?

OK, now it's done so now I can give you guys some feedback on this. You still need the connector with 12 pins and the square one with 3 pins. The three other are not in use, or for the seat. I found out about this after a look at my friends Cup car -91. That year they still used the stock C2 electrical harness so Porsche actually made a small bracket near the floor on the tranny wall (near where your right heel would be if sitting in the rear seat behind the driver). On this bracket they mounted the two connectors you have to use because the are related to the DME. I managed to hide these connectors in a corner under the driver seat instead. But now I have a DME with Cup-style and I've also made room for the harness/belt bolts under the seat. On the passanger side it's also clean now with the steel plate removed and just a small bracket I did out of aluminium for the alarm controll unit. I'll take some pics tonight.
