In a nutshell, you expressed concern over the size of this run and I countered that it ended up being of no concern. The old phrase of 'you had to be there' comes to mind. Like you, I thought that such a large gathering was a recipe for disaster. I nearly didn't go. However, as it turned out, the quality of the people who attended the day ensured there were no problems at all. It appears that you have not taken this on board and urged us not to come in such large numbers next time. I will heed your wish.

It's quite late but I really can't understand the point last few pages of this thread.

One man voices that huges groups will draw too much attention to a popular driving area and that ultimately if a lot of other car forums are doing the same, which they seem to do on the Bikers/Subaru/Mitsubishi/PH/etc. sites, then the area will become one which we can't enjoy due to traffic and the attention that brings. If we contribute to smaller more covert runs it seems common sense to me, some people like Buttertubbs, some Cat and Fiddle, etc.. so why invite too many people at once to one area. The police do follow forums for this kind of activity for cameras and traps.

The problem seem to stems from the fact that it was a "Rennlist" run as JB puts in his title.

Once people start posting the details of the run on PCGB and possibly 911UK then the numbers escalate out of all reasonable control. Each forum has its own groups within groups, and there are many crossovers, but if we fling the door open too wide where does it end.

I can not understand why we cannot agree on this simple premise but it seems we can't.

I think it's a good idea to put a cap on numbers. I felt it would be okay this time, which it was, because so early in the season things would be pretty quiet. Besides, if we just let the numbers skyrocket, how will Cate's cakes keep up?

How can u limit numbers on a public road?
Its a public road, that means its public! If your legal u have every right to b there as the local in his escort, the farmer in his tractor or the "youth" in his RB5!
I had mixed views on the numbers before sunday, but it played out fine.
No crazies to be seen!

I had a fun on sunday, and will do again.
I pay a small fortune to use my car and ill use it where i like, legally.

Just an update. Whilst looking through an Evo Triangle thread on PH this evening, I noticed this post by Angry Sheep (9th post down) :

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing...ngle&mid=51675

Angry Sheep would appear to have been wrongly accused and/or an innocent party in this particular instance.
Seemingly the farmer in question wasn't bothered about his (Angry Sheeps) protestations . . . . despite the fact that neither of the cars used were in any way "sporty".

Hi Frank!

Hope your well, boy thats a great footage of the the Welsh run! with the help of the lady wife of course!

I really enjoyed that day with all the Porsche boys all thanks to John. Surprised though to find that the day was cut short by the weather, but also the time. It went so quick, and still I never caught up with a lot of you guys.

Lets do it again soon! Wish you could come back Frank with the car, stunning!

Funny too, to see all the cars on the go, especially mine surrounded in such great views and beautiful scenery.

Thanks for sharing Frank, and hope everyone is well!

LETS MEET UP SOON, HOWS ABOUT IT JOHN????! IN FACT NORM INVITES YOU TO LIVERPOOL AND A DRIVE AROUND LIVERPOOL CITY FOR A PHOTO SESSION, FOLLOWED BY REFRESHMENTS, IF NOT A HEARTY CHEAP MEAL AT THE RESTAURANT???

Love

Norm

Nice video! somehow, the four white 964 at the stop sign reminds me of sheeps gracing in the field. Weird.

How about a run to the lakes or something?
