Default Moment 22 seat

My driver seat is motorised, and now the drivers seat is stuck. Cant move it forward or backward at all. How the heck shall I mount the seat out off the car. I cant reach the aft 4 bolts !!! Is it possible to force it forward by any chance? Only option right now is a hand grenade!

Hi Polman - there is a hex-key socket facing forward so you can manually move the seat fore-aft. Remove the plastic trim panel on the front on the underside of the seat, and you'll see the hex - it's a 6 or 8mm size. That will permit you to move the seat. But, I'd first look at the switches as they can be cleaned which is likely why your seat stopped moving.

This thread I made a while ago shows you how to fix your switches, and also has a pic of that driver to move your seat manually:

I had a similar problem. The seat would move forward but not back. I ended up using electrical jumper wires to reverse the polarity of the motor and manually move it back enough. I then replace the defective seat switch. In hindsight, I now understand that you can follow garrett's instructions to repair the switches but at the time, I didn't know that.

Moving the seat manually is probably the easiest, using the hex drive that garrett mentions above.

Many, many thanks for your quick reply on a boring topic.....Now I can move on....I thought that you all was sleeping "over There" -so I took a good look, and pressed my head under the seat!! I found, what I first thought was a British Football hooligan.....The lack off teeth was similar..

Well ….Feels a bit hopples…but shameless to give up. Both cables ends are out from drive gear…….shall check with the neighbour if I can borough his cordless screw driver. With his and mine.…Maybe I can get the seat to come sliding nice to “ Daddy”. Shall be interesting to search for a spare wheels with full amount off teeth!

+1.
Cost is a little bit more than fixing a seat that is 18 years old, but you will have new seats and remove many kilos of weight from the car.

Yeea....holy crap...the weight off the two seat must increase at least 15 bhp, but everything turned out with a happy ending! Worked with the two cordless screwdrivers parallel. The tooth gear looks like **** ….wonder if Porsche has that as a spare part? As you can see...I diden´t get rich on what I found underneath.......

There is a separate parts diagram (PET) for the seats. Its 728 pages in length. I'm in the process of skimming to see if I can find the part number for the stripped gears. 806-10 appears to be the section you are looking for but I'm not 100% certain.
