Default FS - g50/20 6speed with LSD

Hey Everyone,

Thought I'd post this first here before I advertise it in Factory Five/GTM, Ultima and Ebay lands. For sale from my 65K mile 95 993 - g50/20 6speed with factory limited slip. Trans comes from a car that was never tracked and is in excellent condition. As some of you know, the only reason I'm selling it is because I went with a g50/31.

I'd like $5K for the trans from a rennlister. Advertised price elsewhere will be $5.5K. Shipping not included

Cheers,
Joe

Folk should be aware that a /20 is not a direct replacement for an /03 or /05 in a 964. The 6-speed gearbox has a different 'nose' and requires a small bit of fabrication work to get it to fit.

Joe: Good luck on the sale. The 6-speed may be worth a bit more, but I had a bit of trouble selling my /05 for $3.5k. You might want to note in your ad if it has been refreshed or was simply removed at 65k miles.

Thanks Tom. In this month's Excellence mag, there's an article about a guy who fitted a g50/20 into a 964 (a tip no less). The transmission has not been refreshed, but it has had an easy life - no issues.

Cheers,
Joe

Can you provide justification for your pricing? Seems very high, considering that the /20 is poorly geared and higher miles.
At least one of the reasons is why you're selling.

Simple answer: my pricing is based on research of previous sale prices of g50/20 gearboxes. I wouldn't consider a 14 year old gearbox with 65K miles to be "higher miles."

Joe

Tom, What modification are you thinking of to get it to fit in the 964? Mine bolted in direct. I'd also have to say that 5k is not out of the range of pricing I've seen lately for good 6spd gearboxes. It is on the higher end though.

Geoffrey: I remember discussing with Rich that the nose was a tad different between the /05 and the /32 and that they needed to make some minor change to how it bolted in. I'll look to see if I have pictures.

This is a direct bolt in for the 964 manual.

There's actually an article in this month's Excellence documenting the installation of a g50/20 into a 964 tip.
