A few more build photos I thought you might like to see:
10.30pm Thursday, Mr Sticker (in black Tee) is hovering around waiting to do his bit.
03:20am Friday, car has complete green/orange livery & wheels
Anyone noticed the gold plated bonnet catch?

Shouldn't this car be Black Metallic? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Funny how far the R Gruppe "thing" has come since Cris Huergas pretty much pitched the idea to me in the fall of 1980 as we were standing in a dark College of Alameda JC parking lot after class talking about our newly purchased 911's...............

Rob has been crunching numbers on the car, I likewise on the 9m engine options; the result is that the expected delivery price of a car to the specification of the prototype is just under $300k. It's a lot, for sure, but knowing how much dollar went into the development of the bodywork alone it will need a fair few sales before the outgoings have been covered (just like it has been for 9m with the billet head development). My motto was "if you make them, you will sell them", Rob has the conviction to do the same and if initial interest is anything to go it looks like he was right to initiate the program. I sent him a link to this post and he has passed on appreciation for everyones kind comments about his rather special 911 creation.

Stunning Car Rob... I would hate to be behind the wheel at 170 MPH...Would get a little light...
Needs 15 X 9 's and 11"s imho... Also should have had Jeff Smith finish the Trunk....
Otherwise a work of art and scary as hell to drive... I love it..

I hear where you are coming from on the 15" wheels, but we have all got to keep in mind that tyres and of course Fuchs wheels are now difficult to source in this size, so what we have in the 17" is a modern solution that also allows you to fit the larger modern brakes to match the modern performance envelope from the 400hp engine. If the car was intended to be another RS clone the 15" would be the choice, but this is a modern take on an old design, so modern standards have to be applied to everything otherwise the concept would definitely fail to reach its target audience.
As an aside, I drove the car on the 9 & 11 x 17" and was shocked how well it behaved, the steering was extremely light and responsive even without the proposed electric power steering - but there again I am used to my 993RS CS with a manual rack, so maybe I just have specially developed forearms?
