Default Racecar Project - Rear Cockpit Adjustable Bar

This year I've made some significant steps forward in improving the handling of the car. Most recently I sent my dampers back to be rebuilt and to change the internal valving slightly. Although they are 3 way adjustable, I needed to change the range in which they were operating. In addition, it was found that the plunger wore through the anodizing on one of the rear dampers. I belive this was caused due to binding in the suspension because of the rear lower mount being rubber based rather than a monoball. The new housings have a monoball so I ordered two of them. Over the winter I installed a front cockpit blade adjustable anti-roll bar and it has been invaluable in tuning the chassis as well as compensating for fuel loads. I just finished the design and manufacture of a rear bar for my car. I'm exteremly happy with the product and will be installing it shortly. I used the same controller as I did for the front and will install it in the same location on the tunnel (more pictures to follow). The only downside is that the hardware is american hardware. I am reusing my Tarrett drop links. If anyone is interested in my TRG rear sway bar, it is for sale. I would consider making more if others were interested.

Didn't I say I was done with mods to my car? And now you wave a red cape in front of me?

As I recall the front adjustable bar was purchased and not fabricated. Are you considering fabrication of both front and rear adjustable bars?

Geoffrey I'd love a set for my 964turbo, would you be able to produce such a thing?

Yeah, because it used to handle like a single axle donkey cart before

JK! I'm still impressed with your front cockpit adjustable RSR sway bar

Tom, The front bar I have is a factory GT2 blade adjustable bar, but I used a different controller as I didn't like the Porsche Motorsport one.

James, Yes, one could be made for a turbo, however, the width of the bar at the end links would likely need to be altered, I'd have to take measurements and alter my design in a few areas.

Chase, I have the 22mm TRG bar and I'd like to get $200 for it.

Ilko, everything is relative. The difference in handling is very noticable with a large increase in rear grip.

geoffery - you need to do your garage floor in Linolium tile from Lowes like i did (i had the same look as you and probably the same indoors as well with the paint peeling up) a checker board pattern makes it look 1000% better but oil does show on the white flake. i will go all black in my next house.

$400 and your good in an afternoon (no kidding for 500 sq ft), snap 2 lines at the start (corner)

very nice on the rear sways

i'll all back to andial stock or i would be tempted (w/ B.L., mine, and your mods to the engine, only)

tempted..... need to clear the garage though and that's emotionally very hard.
i'd prob start a similar project to what you have built (although i am less in the fray day to day) and go dedicated track.....
trying to decide my next direction for cars.. overland or racing or stay where i'm at.....which is neather 100%
Alcan, onelap, targa NfL, or the la Carrera with 3 achievable from current stock and the onelap done but not repeated (also a goal is to multi on them since i love the LD thing)

yeah - looking at the La Carrea actually as my next hurdle (the Alcan is not until 2012, 4 year cycle for the winter event which i am game for), i'm not ready as a driver for the Targa NfL.

i'm young though and will get them all sooner or later.

Sorry it has been awhile on this project, but here are the final pictures installed. I'm hoping to test this in two weeks at WGI provided I can get everything back together in time.
