Default UK meet for April??

There has been some talk amongst a few of us regarding orgainsing a 964 meet in the UK for sometime in April.

With the general popularity of the meets centered around the Midlands there is some enthusiasm for a meeting at Center Gravity in Atherstone - between Hinkley and Tamworth on the A5. Chris Franklin is happy to host a meeting and provide an interesting presentation on his work there on a Sunday although for obvious reasons it's probably best to avoid Easter Sunday, 12th April.

No firm dates have been set up with Chris yet but it would be helpful if interested parties could indicate their preference.

Regards

Dave

Count me in Dave. Prefer 12 April, both 5 & 19 are out owing tp prior arrangements. Later OK in general.

Prefer to avoid 26th if at all possible, factory visit planned for following week and I don't want to use all my Brownie points with SWMBO..

OK - admittedly I haven't given much time for votes to be cast but it turns out that the only day Chris Franklin now has free is the 19th. It seems from most responses that the 19th is the favourite anyway so it seems that's the way it will be.

There will no doubt bew lots of posts before the event. Details and location map will appear on www.964uk.com on the Events page before long.

For those of you who haven't been to CG before, the address is:

Academy Workshop
2 Brindley Close
Holly Lane Industrial Estate
Atherstone
Warwickshire
CV9 2QX

Tel: (01827) 718800

I haven't discussed details like arrival time and duration etc. with Chris yet but I'll try to keep as close to our "norm" of a 10:30 - 11:00 arrival if we can, particularly bearing in mind that a number of people may be travelling a decent distance to get there.

Regards

Dave

Just as a little experiment I've taken up a suggestion made by Rich (RSGulp) to use an on-line poll system in an attempt to judge numbers for this meeting. Since we have a fixed date now (19th April) it may be useful to establish who is coming - and from where - if only to organise convoys and meeting places etc.

If you follow this link it will take you to the Doodle poll site where you can leave details of your name (or handle) and where you are coming from. If it works well it's something we can use in the future to, perhaps, more useful effect.

Regards

Dave
