The 9m Motec package (and the USA Racetek Engineering version of same) includes the following:
1. Motec M48 ecu
2. 9m MOtec M48 to 964 adapter harness
3. MAP sensor (1.0bar), bracket & lead
4. Air temp sensor
5. TPS sensor and Throttle body conversion/bracket
6. 9m air intake pipe & K&N type filter (stock AFM & airbox is discarded)
7. Set of flow matched 9m/bosch fuel injectors (latest multi-pintle type, modified to stock fuel rail fitment)
8. Installation
9, Dyno test as arrived, dyno mapping & testing as completed
10. Fine tuning on road (provided car is road legal).
In testing on several different dynos this conversion gives consistently around 300hp at the wheels. The first conversion on a 964RS that we ever did ran 295hp at the tyres, however with more refinements from the later maps the best we managed to find was 307hp at the tyres - funnily enough both of these were measured on the Bosch dyno that Chipwizards now use before Wayne bought it!
With respect to alternative Motronic based solutions (from Wayne or whoever) as someone has already inferred, getting hold of used 993 Motronic parts at a reasonable price is nigh on impossible so you would have to be very patient if you wanted to take this option. You could buy new of course, but then the price would be way more than the Motec option so what would be the point? Besides which we make the custom parts in house as we need them, hence why we can usually turn a conversion around within a week from start to finish.
The 9m Motec conversion costs £3495 +VAT, roughly £2500 for the parts and the rest for the installation & mapping. The 9m Motec +1 upgrade for the 964 is the same basic system but with the addition of 9m ported heads and 9m Sport cams, valver springs & retainers on the stock bottom end, the cost of this is around £2000+VAT on top of the price of a full top end rebuild, so usually around £5000+VAT for a typical re-ring with a full valve job and head reface.

To clarify a bit.
The Vitesse MAF kit does not require and does not include a PiggyBack. The PiggyBack is optional to provide control over fuel and ignition plus a few other features (data logging, dual maps, shift light...). All this information and a before/after dyno run can be found on the website.

The engine isn't standard so the bhp numbers aren't attributable to the Motec alone.
IIRC Colin has posted a dyno graph of my engine previously.

So 350 motecs for about £10k then........
320 HP for £4k (extra 70) dependant on before and after dyno reading
350+ for £10k....of course plus any dodgy parts found on the way.
So, my car plus mods done already plus £10k above = LHD 996 GT3 mk1......££££££

I make it 350+ for £12K. Isn't it £5K top-end rebuild + £2K for head/cams ?

thats the impression i got...
but then you really do have to ask yourself...
your car + £15k = lots of other very trackable cars...
so you ask youself, do you do it for the track?
or for the 964 love...
if you answer the former, i ask you to hang up your rennlist membership. you know where the door is
i'd love a motec, but i need a rebuild first, then a motec, then a fat hairy supercharger so i can had the GT3's their asses on a plate

To be fair, if I ever get into the situation whereby I needed a rebuild I'd be sorely tempted by the Motec+1. Then it would be effectively £6.3K for 350+ which is easier to justify in my books

Yes that's right. But if your engine goes pop and needs a rebuild you write off the cost of the rebuild because it needs to be done anyway. In that case you're only paying 3500+2000+VAT for your 350. It's a bit like Gordon Brown and his golden economic rules - you bodge the figures so that you convince yourself you're doing the right thing

1. Basic 9m Motec conversion = £3500
2. 9m +1 upgrade including 9m Sport cams, valve springs, retainers & typical top end rebuild ~= £5000 (depending on condition of the engine)
3. Total = £8500 + 15% VAT = £9775
For trackday cars I would not advocate the supercharger as a viable alternative due to the heat that they generate at sustained high rpm. In a direct dyno shootout between a blown stock engine and a 9m Motec +1, the n/a engine will have pretty much the same power under the curve in the 5000-6800 rpm range that you are going to be using the most. Here's a comparison between a TPC supercharged 993 varioram vs Will's Motec +1 964 which proves what we have found in practise. Note that the Motec engine actually makes more torque from 3600 to 5200 than the blown engine....
