Default Your thoughts---FVD Brombacher/Rennspeed Parts

Hey guys,
I went to order a few parts from rennspeed today, and came across a few different options and wanted to ask what you guys think about them.

1. I am ordering the brake ducts, rennspeed has a pair for $95, however I see theirs in a couple of pics on their site and they appear to fit very poorly. For $200 FVD has a pair that look to be much higher quality, have you guys experienced either, opinions? (FVD, has a slip lip, and look to be made very well---rennspeed, the edge facing the turn signal is flat, doesnt seem like it would form fit to it...and the TAG instead of screw on that side worries me)

2. Clear corner from rennspeed are 95, and 200 from FVD, I figure I will just go with rennspeed for these, any throwbacks?

3. FVD also has hood shocks/boot shocks---mine are giving in and not holding up very well, I planned to just order from the dealership but these are titled (heavy duty), would you recommend these or OEM?

4. I am ordering lowering springs only for now, until I can afford to buy the whole package, i know its frowned upon, but I need to drop the front NOW, more than later...HandR lowers the front 1.5, rear 1.4 and are a little over 200....eibach lowers less, anything else you guys could recommend for the same drop, or slightly more than HandR other than a full suspension upgrade?

OFF TOPIC:

My passenger side header gaskets are shot, and I just got 3 new ones from the dealership, I will be replacing them over the week....any words of advice, dos, or donts while doing this job myself?

here is my car for reference

THANKS!

3. aftermarket hood shocks should be fine
4. changing the springs only is fine - don't worry. I did it on my turbo and unless you are looking for a track set-up it works well

Sorry, can't help you on the other items.

The brake ducts from FVD fit better. But you'll need to cut a hole in the front bumper for the tab to go in.

The clear indicators from FVD are better as well. I believe they are OEM - with chrome coating on the inside. The ones from Rennspeed are not as nice, but I had a pair on my old car for a year and they worked just fine.

You will also have to make slot in bumper if you use the rennspeed ducts. Fit and finish of rennspeed is really poor and if I had to buy another set, I would spend a bit more and go with FVD or someone else. Although I was very pleased with rennspeed's RS front lip spoiler/splitter. As for the blinkers, I had mine from Zims and quality/service was excellent.

thanks guys!!! Any link to the zims corners? Fitment of the rennspeed corners is an oem fitment just not oem quality??? As long as they fit well with the brombacher ducts I'll buy those.

Thomas c2 which clears did you use?

which brake ducts did you use??? I wonder if the brombcher ducts would fit perfect, I don't want ba fitment and the brombacher ducts are by choice, if all 3 brands of clears are different dimensions that worries me, I would hope they are all the same mold as the oem lenses

I had rennspeed ducts. The lens have to be the same size no matter what the brand is because the way they mount. If they weren't then it would be impossible to bolt them on.

So your saying all clear lenses should b the same size? And if so that means the brombacher ducts should fit perfect.

I had 2 more questions for you guys

1. Ddm tuning has hid 6000k kit for $75 lifetime warranty blah blah blah, had anyone bought from them or seen hid's installed on a 964? Opinions??

2. What siZe speakers fit in my front doors and rear panels? 5.25 and 6.5"? I have infinity kappa perfects new on box that I would like to use.

Any opinions on the biggest drop withut a full suspension upgrade?
