Default 993RS Steering Wheel on 964?

Is the 993RS Steering Wheel a direct fit for the 964? Apart from deactivating the airbag warning light? Suncoast Porsche's website says it is.

Thanks,

JF

I have this in my car and it was a direct fit, simply unbolt the old one and bolt in new one. Was literally a 10 minute job. However my car did not have an airbag so I don't know if this complicates the issue at all.

Regards,

Neil

I know that the 964 steering wheel is offset to the right a little bit. I guess this direct bolt doesn't change the offset?

Are you sure is not the steering shaft that is off ?
Cause if that was true then the wheel would be different for RHD and LHD

I understood that the 964 and 993 wheels are not interchangeable. Make sure you get the correct wheel fitment for the 964, which should be available for this wheel.

Andy is right if memory serves, the splined hub is a different size, a couple of mm larger....the steering wheel however is in 964 fitment, as I have one fitted.

Yea, I guess it would be the steering shaft and not the steering wheel.

I was reading this write up on some mods that a fellow 964'er posted. It was informational on this subject.

LHD is more central, RHD is offset to pedals.

Let me know if you buy a 993 steering wheel and it fits, mine most definately didn't.

I purchased the wheel complete with hub and horn contactor from the porscheshop in the UK. The price shipped to me in the USA is $365.
