Model year question
I have just received Adrian's book, really fantastic I must say. However when looking at the model year information, the first production date for the so called M-series also referred to as model year 1991 (for ROW cars) was between August 1 1990 and October 31 1990 (guess it should have been 1991, otherwise it would only be 3 months production time).
However now the tricky part, my car sold new in Germany was deliverd to the first buyer 24:th of July 1990 (stamped in service book and present on documentation from early services). This makes me believe that my car is a L-series model, or model year 1990.
However the VIN is WP0ZZZ96ZMS400310, which indicates that it is a M-series car.
Can anyone of you assist me in determine what type of model I actually have...

Technically MY91 cars (M series) should be delivered between 1 Aug 1990 and 31 July 1991. Since your VIN has an M and the production number is quite low, I think it is entirely possible that your car was delivered early. Maybe the first owner was a very important customer for Porsche in Germany .
Strangely, on the flip side, my own car is an MY90 car (L in the VIN) with a very high production number and was delivered on 1 Aug 1990. So in my case it was likely that the car was sat around as stock in a show room. The poor first owner probably has no idea to this day that he was sold last year's model .
