There are many 993's with less than 15K miles
At least 2 911's that fit the same criteria
But I cannot find any 964 with low mileage, why ?

because they are great cars, and folks tend to drive them instead of polishing them and just staring at them in the garage![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Mine is my daily driver/AX/DE car of choice. I have other things to drive but prefer this one.....

Take it one step further back and look at the production numbers. The cars were bought by the (few) people who knew what a 911 was, and that's what they wanted. Was there about a 75% chance mid-964 production that the company may have ceased to exist as an automobile producer? (They'd always be around as an engineering firm, or someone would have purchased them.) So the cars got put into daily use.
Which is pretty much what happened with early 993's, also. How many ultra-low mileage '95's and garden variety (e.g. narrow body) '96's are out there? It's all turbos and wide bodies, mainly with all the pimpmobile options that have not been driven. 911's kinda became a three-dimensional piece of garage art to a subset of car enthusiasts. Oh well. Nice to know you can buy a near new one if you're willing to pay the price. I'm glad the two previous owners of my silver car, even though it had $30K in options, drove it 15K/yr for the first seven years of its life!
So, to keep score on my fleet now: C4S=122K, RSA=136K, C2 cab=197K, '95=125K. They don't melt.......

Good idea! Not many places for us to go and exercise these cars. Plus, our track on Oahu shut down 2 years ago. The real estate company that purchased it to turn it into commercial office space has defaulted on their loan and is close to foreclosure.
I do drive the 964t about once or twice a month. My 930 with a 3.4 and lots of other goodies is driven about the same, but it has 95k.

Low mileage 964's do exist. Because of the lower numbers manufactured they are more difficult to find.
My 964 had 2600 km when I bought it last summer. It nows has 5100km
It's been stored away for winter yesterday.
Another thing to consider is that climate will determine if the car is driven. Here in Canada we tend not to use a P-car in winter. In CA, they are daily drivers all year long. Hence more mileage.
I suspect that the further north you go, the more lower mileage 964 there are.
My 2 cents

I was looking for a 30-40K mile example back in 2002- they were out there but had to be willing to travel, especially given my criteria- mint, stock 1992-1994 C2 only, cab only, and aformentioned milage- none by me in NJ, at least not that I liked. Looked at a couple but didn't like, then found a triple black 1993 with 13,000 miles down in Florida. They do exist.
I wanted a car as close to new as possible as I only use as a summer weekend car, and I intended to keep it that way. Contrary to those who ask why would you want a garage queen, well I'm busy and the best time I have is on the weekend when I can really enjoy the car. Its up to about 25,000 miles now 6 years later.
I was willing to pay extra for a low mileage clean car as it's what I wanted and they tend to hold their value. If I bought a higher mileage beater I'd spend thousands fixing it and then still have a high mileage car in the end. If you find a high mileage car that's been cared for, that's a different story (you can also find low mileage cars that were not taken care of). Anyway, I figured I'd rather spend the extra money for the low mileage clean car especially given the low miles my "weekend sports car" is driven. The premium paid for low mileage/clean car has served me well with buying and selling my previous toys- 1978 911, 1987 911 and 1990 corvette convertible. (I'll exclude the vw beetle as that was not purchased with the same intent- a friend and I have been fixing up the beetle over the past 10years.)
The best way to find clean low mileage cars is the usual places- hemmings and porsche club classifieds (usually enthusiest owners that may be asking a premium), and autotrader, cars.com, and possibly ebay for leads- although on ebay or elsewhere I'd want to see and inspect the car in person of course. Unfortunately, unless you are lucky, you may have to travel to get the car you want as there weren't many 964's made relative to the 3.2's or later 996s. Great driving car and worth the money!
Good luck!

I was looking for a low-mile example 3 years ago, ended up with a 57K '91 - which isn't really that low-mile, but I found that the price premium at that time went up dramatically under 40K miles. IIRC, Porsche only brought in about 2000 911's per yr. in '90-'92, so there's just a lot smaller pool to start with. In my case, the PO was an older woman who put about 2K/yr. on the car, and my weekend-only usage is similar.
I think buying down the miles is well worth it, if you plan to keep the car a long time (which I do) - and if the premium isn't too outrageous.
