Default Do threads make you Nervous

Is it just me or when you read threads about problems and failures do you also run out to your car to check that yours is OK?

I am grateful that if I have the problem, I know where to look for the best solution.

I am particularly grateful to those who share mistakes and false starts. They pay the price, but the rest of us get the benefit.

It is you...

I am with Springer3 on this one. I am just glad there is a community here in Rennlist that if I run into problems I know I can turn to for solutions.

I do read the threads so that if I notice something in the car I can have a mental note that I have read about it and have some idea of where to start looking.

I will let you know if I start hearing things that are not there...

No, these are robust cars and the issues easily fixed.

Boxsey,

...to paraphrase the great Joe Patroni:
(re Rennlist threads) "There's one nice thing about the 9-6-4 -- she can do everything but Read..."

a common regard & reflection in my garage:

I agree with everyone about threads containing the solution(s) to fix problems and that's what Rennlist is about but I can't help wondering when reading about a particular problem someone has just experienced, when it will strike mine. If I don't go and check it out immediately I add it to my 'must check' list or I'll add it to my 'must do' list if I recognise immediately that I have the same issue that someone is posting about. Neither of these lists ever seem to get any shorter!

I guess from the replies so far that yes it IS just me!

Oh.....and don't worry guys, just in case any of these points get lost in the across the pond translater, this thread is not about '964 frustrations'....it's about the '964 relationship'. If I could paraphrase Joe Petrone further (in Lonnie's post above) it would be....

"There's one thing nice about the 9-6-4 -- she can do everything except admit defeat"

Only for the wallet!

A little example of my 'Thread-o-chondria' is that I've been waiting nearly 2 years for my idle to show signs of stumbling so that I can whip out the ISV for a good cleaning!

Typically no. Like others have said, I read the forum to make a mental note of problems/fixes others have experienced. But if I read something like the loose cab top transmission bolts cascading to very expensive and time consuming repairs then yeah, I'll take a look and consider it cheap insurance.

No.

I have a couple of very trusted mechanics that keep my cars in great shape.
