For the air compressor. Instead of installing that inside the garage and going deaf when it turns on, install it outside, inside a vented and noise-reduction/insulated-fitted enclosure (so neighbors don’t complain). All this integrated to the outside design of the garage so that it did not stick out and be an eyesore…
The air compressor will be installed under the stairs and fully enclosed with 2 layers of wall board for sound reductions. The on-demand water heater for the heated floor will go under there too.

Jaime,

Dream on brother. Love the little scale mockups. I can tell your a builder and you love to make things. Great ideas to build a place about how we actually want to live, relax, and enjoy our lives.

Jaime,

For the bathroom, that one you showed is way over the top for a garage. Too elegant, like for a quick shower after a late dinner with the wife. I think something more along the lines of industrial function would be a more suitable choice for cleaning up after wrenching. Something you could just spray tilex everywhere and then hose down when you are done!

That bathroom you show has teak boards on the shower floor for goodness sake.

(Our poor Malaysian condo-owning, JNeteler, is probably sh!++ing bricks over these last three posts...)

No... not making adobe here. Just taking it all in for when I return Stateside. Love the give and take on the ideas.

Oh and teak is the wood we use here to make shipping pallets.

One of our US customers recycles the wood into dog houses for their local animal shelter.

Regards,

JNeteler

LOL, nothing like that at all... www.senawang-laminating.biz

Pallets are made from the cheapest available wood not suitable for higher value applications.

Prime furniture grade wood would be prohibitively expensive.

Think of it as the "scrapple" of the wood pile. Somebody from VA or MD can explain what scrapple is in case your confused.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple

I wish for all future shipments to me to be placed on "junk" teak pallets .
I went to west marine not long ago to look at their teak , 4inch by 2ish feet by 1/4 ish , 50ish dollars .
