Gents,
No doubt the BBS REs are technically excellent wheels but don't you think it a bit of a stretch to call them "period correct"? What one-piece wheel from circa 1988 - 1996 looked like the RE? Back then BBS was selling the RS, 3-piece Motorsport and the RX, none of which look like the RE. The RE's styling sibling would be the cast, circa 2000> CH.

Jaywood....thanks. I'm not much for tails, but there's a 993TT engine stuck in there w/that big 'ol i/c that needs lots of air....so.....I had built the smallest tail possible. I think it looks factory...and it scales much better now w/the flares on the car.

I'm in the "same boat" as you right now! I have a '94 Carrera Widebody and I think the stock Cup wheels are terrible. Fikse Forged FM10s in 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 10 are 20 and 21lbs respectively. Kinesis K18s in the same sizes are 25 and 27lbs. I think I'm going with the Fikses.
17 X 8.5 and 10 fit under my Cup with its rolled fenders.
The 17" Fikse are a couple of pounds lighter each than the 18's and around 8 to 9 pounds lighter each than factory Cup wheels.

Just in case someone is looking in the near future.
I am rebuilding a set of speedlines. The rear outers I am using are stamped 9.5 and are those for a cup wheel. They are the same width as the 10 3.6. The inners were different.
But in the odd chance someone is rebuilding a cup car and wants correct wheels and happens to have the 3.6 outers marked 10, I'd offer a swap.
Cheers.

Not saying to use 18"s on a 964 but these fikse's mach v's I think look pretty good. These are 8 and 9.5 x 18" and running 225/265 tires no issues. Although the speedlines look best these are a lot cheaper and lighter.

There is a guy selling these RUF speedlines on Pelican.

If there is one wheel I like more then the 3.6, it might be this wheel.
I would love to see a picture of these on a 964.
