Ruf Wheels look awesome. Here's a set that have less than 800 miles on them and are for sale......

For almost any other regular production model even the Cup Cars 17" is period correct.

Actually, the 3 piece Speedline wheels were 16" for the Carrera Cup cars beginning in the 1993 season.

The Cup 18" front Speedlines are the same part number as the front of 3.6 Turbo, the 9.5" X 18" Cup rear wheels are a Porsche racing department available only part number. I bet with the correct spacers, the 10" Turbo Speedlines would fit though.

The Cup 17" front wheels used the same 17" wheel as optional on the rear of the street cars, the Cup 9.5 inch rear wheel was also approved for fitment on the Turbo and 928 of the time and is still available at the dealer. The 21 mm spacers required were fitted to the front of early 930 and the rear of 944 with the 15" forged alloy wheel package. What is funny here is that the 930 part number costs more than the 944 part number...for the same spacer.

I know of at least two 965 owners who have them and are very happy with them. They are made in Malaysia for PWS, apparently in the same factory as other well known brands and to the same standard. PWS are a UK-based alloy wheel retailer who are well regarded. A set of wheels without tyres will set you back around $2k. At some point I'll probably buy a set to replace my Cup 1s.

Yes I spoke with PWS and 2K is about right except I have to add 500$ for shipping and in any case, are out of stock for the next couple of weeks if not months.

Yes and no. Agreed that 964s weren't sold with 18" wheels but during the period when these cars were still new many people changed up to 18" wheels. I am not worried about the car being original, just period-correct

Someone was kind enough to point out that I did not give details re: Ruf wheel/tire

8.5x18 ET 58 w/225s
8x10 ET 66 w/265s

Tires are Dunlop Sport Race and they are "cheater" tires for autoX, etc. so the 265s are as wide as a standard 285. All have less than 800 miles on them and they are perfect $3,500 + ship for the set, w/center caps. Also NOTE: I have original boxes from Ruf as well....if you are into that kind of thing.

Very nice set. Do you have spacers to fit them on a 964?

Those wheels will fit perfectly on a Turbo & AR but will required spacers on a C2/C4

I am partial to the RE's for those exact reasons. However I think the speedlines look more classic. So RE's for track and Speedlines for street/looks.

Yes I have the Ruf spacer as they are "on" my car in the pic. 15mm in the rear, although you can go up to 21mm to push them out to the lip of the fender if you want....But if you do that IMO, I think you need to run a 5-7mm in the front so it looks balanced. 5mm will fit w/stock studs, but if you go 7mm you really need to run the longer stud..I've also got a set of 5mm spacers. I think they are really wonderful pieces. Only reason selling this set is I had a second set custom made so I can run a 295 in the rear on an 11...and yes, I needed small fender flares to make them fit.

I'm in the "same boat" as you right now! I have a '94 Carrera Widebody and I think the stock Cup wheels are terrible. Fikse Forged FM10s in 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 10 are 20 and 21lbs respectively. Kinesis K18s in the same sizes are 25 and 27lbs. I think I'm going with the Fikses.

Gents,

No doubt the BBS REs are technically excellent wheels but don't you think it a bit of a stretch to call them "period correct"? What one-piece wheel from circa 1988 - 1996 looked like the RE? Back then BBS was selling the RS, 3-piece Motorsport and the RX, none of which look like the RE. The RE's styling sibling would be the cast, circa 2000> CH.

Fikse it will be! Can anyone assist me with images of 18" FM10s on a 964

You don't like these very era-correct Ruf wheels? Easy to clean and rare(NLA) too.
