The 91/92 Cup car wheels are 17x8 (ET55?) and 17x9.5 ET68, but they're not magnesium just the same as normal Cup 1s. The cars also ran a 20mm rear spacer because of the offset. In fact the fronts are the same wheel as the 8" rears on the RSA. 93 cup cars had the 18" Speedlines - I'd love a set of these, heavy but looks the dog's...

The 9.5" rears are difficult to get hold of - I've got one set on the car, and in the process of sourcing another from the continent.

These wheels are for sale on the Swedish Porsche Club homepage! Not mine!

What color is your car? IMHO, some wheels look better with certain colors, e.g. polished mesh on a dark car, black painted wheels on a white car, etc.

Fun topic, though.

My vote is for the BBS RE since they are forged, strong, light, available and have period correct styling plus BBS is an OEM to the Porsche Racing department FWIW (Speedline was supplier to Porsche for 964 both late and early Carrera Cup wheels).

Perfect! Now if only I can find a set! Are they NLA from Porsche?

Has anyone checked the weight of genuine 17" Cup wheels?

I'm not big expert on mechanical preferences for our p-cars (aesthetics being more my field), so I have come to be little partial to the BBS LM: combination of sportiness and elegance and strenght; the Speedlines are more of macho-techno look, IMO. The BBS LM:

If period correct is your goal, Speedlines are it.

Gents, thanks for the additional comments. Many great looking wheels but some of them are not period-correct. The BBS RE, and to some extent the LM, Forgeline, etc are all too new by years to be right for my 964.

Pity Kinesis doesn't still offer their Supercup model.

So far the FM10 is on top of the heap due to their low weight. Does anyone have some nice images of these on 964s?

One more point of view on this is that 18" wheels of any design are not period correct for a 964. 17" was the only larger wheel option that the factory offered and approved, except for the 3.6 Turbo, 3.8 RS and maybe a few other select variants. For almost any other regular production model even the Cup Cars 17" is period correct.
