I have owned my German market 964 for many years knowing it is one of the first .
First German registered on the 02 day/03 mnth/1989 .
The VIN is WPOZZZ 96ZKS400200 .
That has to be at the start of production .
Do you have an older one , just curious !

Steve,
Thanks a lot. Just thought of the Red book and that all ties together. Looks like the US version has 96ZLS400001 as the start in August 89.
I am becoming an anorak !!!!!!!!!!!!
Quick think about something other than 964 !!
Thanks again.

Kirk,
In the Red book the closest is WPOAB096CLS459001 start as a US model.
The CLS doesnt tie ?
Is this time for a magnifying glass and a shovel ??

My '89 US spec C4 is WP0AB0963KS450206 — 206 seems pretty low in that accounting, doesn't it? It was also a Tourist Delivery model with California Emissions (original owner hailed from the glorious O.C., apparently), so it's seen some interesting roadways in its time.

Whoops , got that wrong. The AB0 confirms a US model but the number should means its 50206 along the chain from 00001 , I believe !
That is nonsense. My Red book listing doesnt have your VIN range so I have no idea where it fits !
This is getting real tricky.
