My only experience with 911s has been on a 87' with the thing on the side (best invention ever why did they get rid of this???) and I was wondering how others jack up their 964 pictures would be great. Also jack stand placement.

Carefully! If it is like mine then a bit of crawling around in the dirt will help you locate the jacking points. It certainly was easier with the 3.2....

If you know of anyone with failed mounts collecting dust on a shelf I'm looking for a pair. I would like to try injecting a medium durometer polyurethane into the stock mount to see if they can be resuscitated. Theoretically the result would be something similar to an RS mount (or X73 on the 996TT?) for about $20.

Jason - I will be replacing my mounts shortly. When I dropped my engine to replace the clutch, I inspected the mounts. Two of the three mounts had cracks in them. So I've ordered new ones last night. I can send you the old ones, if you want them. PM me if interested.

The 964 is one of the easiest cars to find the jacking points for. They're great big flat square areas about 3-4" underneath the sills - you can't miss 'em.

this is a vexing problem. in the link from gregs post it suggests that you can lift the rear by the crankcase, but only if you remove the pans and such first. maybe my 9 year old could get under the car to do this with it sitting on the ground, but not me. here is how i solved the problem, and it is not a great solution, but it worked for me, and allowed me to get the car entirely off of the ground by using only the jacking points. first, i got the front on the jackstands by using a floor jack on the rear jacking points. this is the easy part. then, i lifted the rear one side at time by the rear jacking points using the scissor jack that comes with the car. if you place the jack so that the base is at a slight angle out towards you from the car, there is just enough room if you wiggle it around to place a jack stand under that jacking point and engaging the L shaped part of the jacking point away from the hole that the scissor jack engages. do this to the other side and you are in business. this is kind of tedious, but it worked for me. i used the medium duty sears jack stands for this (very good quality), as the heavy duty ones would not clear the scissor jack. personally, i would never lift my car from anything except the jacking points. tom

There is a DIY here .
While some folk think that using the case will cause a problem with the motor mounts, I've been doing it for years on both my cars and have had no problems. My track car get jacked up more than most street cars (a lot more).
If you don't have a front splitter that's an issue, you can even do it in 2 steps
1) Jack up the case in the rear and put stands at the rear jack points, and (2) jack the front from one of the two jack points and put stands under the spot where the a-arms pivot. With the Turtle, it's way too low to do this without first getting it up on some blocks (I use RV leveling blocks that are like big Legos).
