Thanks Jerry. I still need more room for more cars. Plan on building a second garage just across from this one and put my office in it.

Sounds more like a turn around guy than a business failure. Can be quite lucrative for those that find success at it.

Steve, just fill in the pool and build the new garage on top of it!

Tempting and a better use for the dirt than a stupid pool! Don't get me started

Another guitar player here -- Guild 12-strings and "folk" music.

I love the way the uninitiated take the mick out of what is, IMO, the ultimate gamblers game. Backgammon is thinking man's poker, as it removes the element of luck. Although I haven't played for 25 years (long story, but I promised my parents I would never play again), there used to be a big semi pro and full pro scene in London. I used to know guys who made £100's of 000's from the game.

Sounds like the doubling dice was involved there Simon! Were you playing with the Gambini family???

Sorry Ian, can't help there. My Beast is snuggled up in bed waiting for when the temperature doesn't have a minus (-) sign in front of it

.. so to keep me going I bought a gloss black/tortoiseshell Stu Hamm Fender Custom which is filling the gap until I use the insurance money to buy me a new Modulus (if anyone has a nice Q4 for sale please let me know).

On the front end I have a 15" H&H cab which is currently on loan to a friend's youngest son to use with my old Ibanez sunburst precision which I gave him, so for lounge work I am now using a Roland Cube 30 Bass box (remarkably good for its diminutive size) and when the family is in bed I plug in to a Tascam CD-BT1 mk2 Bass Trainer (CD player with Bass input & mix functions) which is an invaluable one-box solution to practising.

After I get the new Q4 the Stu Hamm may have to go, I like its warmth but after playing the Modulus for 12 months I cannot live with the "live" feel of the wooden neck and prefer the brightness and clarity of the carbon Q4. If I do sell the SH I will definitely put a nice Precision and/or a Jazz in the collection. Oh heck, I'm rambling again...

0) Writing audio analysis software
1) Restoring an MGB GT
2) Collecting, restoring and aligning Hallicrafters receivers
3) British coins, especially farthings
4) Older Tektronix 'scopes

I could happily spend all my time doing the above, but I need to get paid

Whoa! Nice rig Colin! A shame some low-lifes made off with it.... Our bassmeister plays a Status Graphite King Bass, which Rob Green frm Status customised for him. He also has my old Warwick Streamer II % string and he runs through a Trace Elliott "Wall of Death" a 4X10 and 2x15 cab. Personally I love the Telecaster Bass with Duncan pickups...
