Put my name on the notification list too,. please. I have a Bosch KTS-300 coming in from eBay. Seller ( a porsche shop in Ontario, Canada) claims it is set-up for p-cars. We will see when it arrives. TIA.

OK, I'm intrigued. I have been ingoring the RENNLIST for some time and have not followed this thread until today. Just what does the scantool do? Is it a substitute for the Bosch hammer?

I quote from the scantools author DougB from this post Here
"The software can:
• Read/Clear fault codes for the Motronic ECU, air bag, climate control and PDAS.
• Run actuator tests for Motronic. This is a test that cycles the different actuators such as the resonance flap and fuel injectors. During the test you’re expected to listen for the actuators clicking on and off.
• Display values from the Motronic’s analog inputs such as the voltage from the air flow meter and temp sensors.
• Display the state of the Motronic’s idle and wide open throttle switches.
• Display Motronic’s actual operating parameters such as rpm and load. Practically all of the operating parameters are available but I believe the version of the software that’s currently out there has a limited list of parameters.
• Display Motrinic’s high/low range AFR trim values along with a live O2 sensor signal.
• Display the state of the PDAS traction control switch.
What it can not do:
• Bleed the PDAS system.
• Operate the transverse and longitudinal locks.
• Display ‘knock counts.’ This isn’t really a diagnostics feature. It’s implemented separately with a +12 volt pulse signal."
Here's a review of the actual Hammer from Dfinnegan Here

I hesitate to join in on this subject due to my ignorance, but here goes. I have read in the May issue of Total 911 magazine, page 28 (out of Britian) that a company called Autologic is planning on releasing a pc version of the Bosch hammer later in 2007. Does anyone know how this will be different from the Scantool version? Please don't flame me if I asked a really stupid queston.

You still need a 19 pin connector to link your 964 to a laptop. I wonder how hard it would be to add all 19 pins for future use even if we are only using 4 today for the Scantool interface?
