Racecar Project - I can't believe I didn't do this earlier
I can't believe I didn't buy one of these earlier. Now that the project is done and was built using jackstands, a friend had this older mid-rise lift which he sold to me cheap. I just finished installing it tonight and I know it is going to be one of the best tools I ever purchased. The lift allows access to all suspension points on the car as well as the engine and transmission. It is so much easier than using a jack.

There really isn't much detail to say. It must weigh between 500-900lbs. I backed my trailer into the garage and used my ceiling mounted engine hoist to lift it up and drive the trailer out from under it. I set it on a wood roll around caddy and used a jack to place it where it needed to be. I have no idea the manufacturer. It will lift 24" and has complete access to everything I'd like to get at except the oil drain plug on the thermostat. It has no moving parts that rub on the concrete so I don't have to worry about ruining the garage floor and the car fits over it without extra wood.

It's a huge plus not having to build ramps, lowered cars are very difficult to deal w/ for most midrises When the ramps are high enough to get a lowered car on they will then interfere w/ the swingout arms.
Geoffrey are you lifting yours at the stock pads? Using lifting blocks?

Yes, a 14' ceiling is helpful... Best part about my lift is that it is next door and inside my brother's shop, along with TIG, MIG, Arc, Gas, bead blaster, metal brake, etc. etc.!!
Now if I can only get him to put in a pool and buy a boat...

That looks just like the one I bought but has been updated with wheels for ease of moving it around. It has similar specifications to mine.
Bill, I just drive over it with my racecar and lift it. It has rubber on the jack surfaces so it contacts the 4 jack points along with parts of the body.
