I am not sure it was deliberate but it is very easy to liberate some horses from the 964. My RS has been tested on the same dyno as Colin is using above and produced 309bhp and 400 Nm. The main improvements are in the breathing and exhaust.

I look forward to news of some spectacular figures from Colin.

Finally given up for the afternoon with a peak of 412bhp @ 6700 and 456Nm at 5200.

Unfortunately I will have to chat to the customer about options to try different exhaust configurations because I have had his engine in pieces for most of the summer and I am sure that he is desperate to have a thrash in it.

That said we do have Adrian's cat free twin outlet 964RS equal length header set sat on the shelf and my 993RSCS is coming in next week to fit the new 9m twin plate carbon clutch package so I could easily whip off my system for a direct comparison - would just need to remove the bumper and make temporary supports for the silencers (read wooden blocks on the floor behind the dyno....).

Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

For the record in the last month or so I have tested a stock GT3 mk2 at 386bhp, a mk1 with cargraphic exhaust at 384bhp, a bone stock 930 with 1.0 bar spring at 320bhp and a modified 930 with headers/K27/intercooler/964 cams/1.0bar at 400bhp so I am pretty sure that the dyno is accurate enough to make reasonable comparisons.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to upload photos at the moment so will have to talk to Rennlist admin about my account, so you will have to wait to see the graphs I am afraid.

Love to see the results of that! As for Adrian's exhaust, I know you and I don't totally agree but I bet that on my car with Motec................ OMG, my wife would divorce me and that would be even more expensive

From my one run at your place and having seen the other cars, then driven against them (sorry, it was a track day so it was driven along with them ) I am sure your dyno is pretty representitive and very suitable for coimparison. Ultimately, its down to how dilligent the operator is and how much pride they have to get the run right. Too many don't care less or have agendas. I am happy quoting your figures over any others.

(looking forward to seeing you at Judgement day)

Just got off the phone to the owner and the plan is to get the car to a statisfactory driving level as-is just so that he can at least drive it around for a week or two, in the meantime we will be making the neccesary design revisions to the prototype throttle linkages, idle control and airbox so that we can update the installation after he has scared himself stupid enough.

However, he won't be collecting his pride & job before next friday....

With standard exhaust and long trumpets 415bhp 455Nm at best.

In testing today wth 1 5/8" equal length headers & race silencer it made 440bhp & 490Nm and we gained 100Nm at 3500rpm to fill in the bottom end torque hole.

My account will not let me post photos anymore for some reason, so I will try to mail them to a willing helper later on tonight.

What a suprise Love that mid range torque. but I cannot say I am wasn't expecting it Now that is a car I would like to drive. Now, if as you say the owner is going to scare himself, I would be prepared to sacrifice a little of my time to help out with the testing........

Wouldn't it be a nice idea for 9M to have a demonstrator available.

Thanks Marc, that seems to have done the trick.

Here are the dyno pulls of the best runs with each exhaust, the lower one in red is the standard 964 system with cat bypass and stock rear and side silencers, the top one is with the equal length headers.

I'll post a photo of the car on the dyno in a short while.
