Default Racecar Project - Moment of truth...weight

I finished the engine this week and installed it in the car this afternoon. The car is complete with the exception of the starter (didn't fit properly), plastic covers front and rear, transmission cooler lines front to rear, bulkhead to engine wire harness, and exhaust tips. I set the car on the ground for the first time and it looks great. I put it on the scales and weighed it and I'm on target for my goal of 2100lbs. I am truly shocked!

Holy crap, that thing is going to be a monster!

How do you explain the massive weight savings compared to a 964 Cup?

Looks great. At 2100 lbs., you may give all the GT3 Cups something to think about. When are you going to test it ?

Just incredible! A truly (single)hand-built car. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing with us the best continuing saga on Rennlist!

Like everyone else, I can't wait to see it run either. It looks great. From your scales it appears that you have a little corner balancing work to do.

Photo's Heck! With that low weight, you better put a nice digital camcorder in there and post VIDEO!!!

Congrats on a beautiful job.

Wow! It really makes me wonder what I have left that makes a 400 lb difference!
Your car looks great. I hope you get to get it out for a test spin soon.

Excellent work! Amazing that the car can look so "normal" and have such wacked out corner weights.
