Default my car's in ireland !!!

got back from bug-bus show yesterday , messed about for a bit , then everything was on last minute (as ussual) , taxi waiting and bag not packed etc.
got to manchester airport 1 minute after desk had shut (that'll be the last time i fly with ryanair , had trouble in the past)
anyway , made a phone-call whilst waiting for a train home , and if somebody picked me up from airport , dropped me at home , i got porsche out and drove to hollyhead , wales . i would be there just as the ferry was leaving ........................... i got to the port 1 hour early

so , my car's now with me in ireland for 2 weeks , and i'm just off to dublin airport to get my everyday car out of the car=park .

I have been a few minutes late for most airlines' check-in times and they have all denied access due to my own stupidity. Although I haven't tried Ryanair. Luckily the airlines don't ban customers that are consistently late for check-in otherwise I wouldn't be flying anywhere.

Having seen that documentary on Ryanair I'll be thinking twice before flying with them!

Cheers,

David

caveman ,
you have a thing at the bottom of your sig about exhaust sounds .

on the trip i went through 2 or 3 long tunnels around the rhyl area .
50mph zone , so i wound windows down , slowed to 20 , crept into tunnel , all clear , so i floored it

what a noise !!!!
twin exit fabspeed , no cat , and red-lined in 1st , 2nd , 3rd , 4th !!!!
at the end of the tunnel i just had time to knock into 5th then stamp on the anchors .
too fast to take my eyes off the road to look at the speedo , but i think i may have just crept over 50mph . hopefully there wont be letters from 3 different police forces waiting for me when i get home again .

Hi Ian,

Excellent! I have that problem as well - I see a tunnel and have a big temptation to boot it through the gears. I forgot where I saw it (Metro?) but there is a group called the London Tunnellers that meet up every so often to drive through tunnels (originally started by some TVR owners I think) in London. Maybe you should make a trip down south?!

Cheers,

David

I hit the rev limiter in 4th once (on a race track obviously.....). If you were doing 50mph, I reckon you have some serious clutch slip

I'm a london tunneller! it's a group from pistonheads, lots of TVR's but a fair mix of other stuff too. Excellent fun, but the last one had 200+ cars on it and they've gone to ground a little bit now...

Red line, in my car, in third is 110mph. Allegedly.

That's interesting - in mine, red line in 3rd is 100mph!
