Default WTB: 964 for DE use

Well, I have about decided to move up from my 1984 911 to a 964 (1993 or 94 C2). I am interested in a good condition (not beat to heck) DE car appropriate for Instructor run group; likely candidate will include:
Limited Slip
Full or 1/2 cage
Lowered
Improved suspension
Improved exhaust
Nice if no sunroof but those can be hard to find Lightened is nice but not necessary No crash/repaint; I am looking for a nice, stable car - no stories or track beasts Nice if it is in the Northeast but not absolutely critical Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
The 1984 track prepared car is good for street or track; perfect for a White run group driver looking for a dedicated track car. Price will be in the lower $20s I believe (India Red/black - 64k miles; has Mass Flow intake, roll bar, 2 Recaro SRDs, 5-point harnesses, improved suspension and exhaust, removed a/c but included with car) Thanks for listening

Oliver Zitzman has one of the best C2's on the East Coast for sale. Fully developed, full cage, absolutely gorgeous and very fast. And it is still street legal. Worth the $45k or so that he is asking. He has it listed in the PCA mart.

Hi Larry
Nice to hear from you; hope you are well.
I don't know him, but would enjoy learning about the car so will check out the ad.
What's up with your new RSA race car?

Got the racing bug back big-time. I had hoped that doing DE's in the GT3 would hold it off for a few more years, but no way. I'm getting the RSA for club racing, and then maybe will pick up a convertible for the street. Still will be way cheaper than the GT3. The RSA is totally done to the limit of the rules for C class, fresh motor, short R&P, 993 TT brakes, monoballs & motons, full cage etc. It has won with it's previous owner. BTW I looked at Oliver's car before I bought the RSA. It is the cream of the class for E stock.

Have you checked out the C2 Dave Maynard has? I drove it this week and it may not be the car I want. But it may be half way to what you are looking for:http://www.europeanlocators.com

Dan Jacobs built Oliver's car too. He does a pretty good job on C2s & you can feel confident if he gives it his blessing.

There are also a few prepped cars over at RS America.net. (there are very few of us in Mass)

Hi Jason
Thanks for poinitng toward RS America Net, a well done registry and site.
I started in the RSA mode, but have decided that I was going to pay a lot more for an RSA because it's an RSA, which while justified could be a mistake for me, as I plan on using the car exclusively on the DE circuit.
Should I rethink that?
Thank you

One other point that I neglected to mention is that the RSA can run at 2760 for D stock or C prepared. The C2 must run at 3031 in E stock or D prepared. I really wanted a lighter car for the track, which pointed me to the RSA (with no sunroof or A/C).

What is your budget? You can score a nice 964 Cup for around $60k, DE it for 5 years, and resell it for the same price. You can't go wrong with a true factory setup (unless of course you wad it up).

Mike, I looked pretty hard for that non-existent 964 Cup Car. There certainly was nothing around 60K. That's why I got the RSA.

Hey Larry, I picked mine up 2 years ago---saw it advertised on Rennlist. It was imported a few years ago by Kelly Moss Motorsports for a client in TX. They can be somewhat difficult to locate but are out there. Cupcar.net is a great resource---John Colasante can probably help out with leads. Also, Jim Newman (from Rennlist) can be a great resource for these cars. LTC (Lewis from MA) bought his '92 Cup from Jim a few years ago.

Thanks, but I did check with both of them. Wound up with Jim's featherlite trailer though.

I am taking the rest of my a/c out today and should be close to 2,760 with 3-4 gallons, which is how I would be weighed at the end of a race. I bought my car before I got the track bug (which was about two weeks later) and thought I would want a/c and a sunroof. Both will be gone soon. I really regret the sunroof as I am 6'2" and need the headroom.

There is a 964 RS Clubsport in the PCA classifieds for $65K. I wish I had the money because the 964 RS and Cup kick *** in D. http://www.pca.org/mart/classifieds....uery=retrieval

Yes, a VERY happy day. Can't say enough good things about Jim, a true gentleman.
