Finally the rain has passed and had some non 100 degree driving weather. Went for a drive to a multi marque C&C but should have gone to Sunday Motor Co after. Apparently someone had a nice maritime RSR project like mine but more of a clone than my tribute. Always nice to see cars other than Porsche's.
Stopped at a local favorite Italian Deli after only to find a gaggle of BMW"s. Some very nice rides. Of course I had to stop and talk and the admiration for the 964 was huge. I started asking them about there cars but they talked more about mine LOL.
Can’t believe there was once a time 964’s were considered ugly. Think it does a great job in keeping the original basic 911 shape and size. Also the bumpers integrate into the rest of the car much better than a G-body car. Think the 964 and the F-body (aka long-hood) are the best looking air-cooled 911’s.
I think they were only considered ugly because everyone was so used to looking at the accordion bumpers for 15 years, lol. Totally agree though, the classic silhouette with clean bumper lines is hard to beat.
Have both, love both. It's crazy how they drive SO differently though while looking so similar. Suspension, no PS, trans/clutch (< '86).
Lots of huge advancements in the 964, but also some things that drive me crazy. The HVAC, while insane to operate on the G bodies, works SO much better than the 964 (unless you replace nearly everything). Modules for everything, ABS, AWD, etc. Those are the things that always fail and they either don't exist or are dead simple in the G bodies. Thank god for folks like Tore and Loren.

Interesting the 964 A/C was IMO a huge advancement over the prior G-body systems. Actually cools the car instead of overheating the engine. My 964's run flawlessly. I guess it is what condition you buy.
Looks like a forced air unit? Seems pricey. I was toying with the idea of a small cooler filled w/ ice and saltwater and cutting holes in it, then using flexible tubing as ducts and a fan. DIY AC!
