I don't know about you but we have multiple RS's show up at our C&C's and that leaves people eyeing up the 964's. New and fast video game. I have a few friends with these and not sure what I would do with one. I have far more fun driving my slow cars fast. They spend far too much time in court.

Hahaha, agreed, this one belongs to a buddy that also has a 964 and a 993. It's a strange Porsche scene here dominated by late model watercooleds. I see more aircooled cars randomly driving around than I do at most events. While I think the new RS is an exceptional vehicle, it's pretty ridiculous for a street car.

I wish it was like that here. I’m out almost every weekend and I can count on one hand the number of air cooled cars I see in a year driving around, which is a bummer because I know they are around and I see them if I go to specific C&Cs.

It actually seems true for any 911 older than 991s. Seeing a 997 is exciting now because they are so rare. 991s everrrrywhere though.

I went to a GT specific meet last year. 1 996 (me), 1 997, 20 991s…. Huge disappointment. 2 964s though, one being a Turbo S (or very good replica?), and a 993 Guntherwerks, so that was cool.

Well said. The last event I went to had maybe 10-15 new gt3rs cars. I thought they were rare, considering that Porsche is using brokers to hit people with insane ADM. I'd rather be surrounded by old hot rods, something wrenched on, patina, etc. Most of these new events are like visiting a showroom with goofballs fawning over the word "PTS"

my favorite things about aircooled events/people are i never hear the phrase whats your spec or get asked what color stitching/bely/caliper did you choose? Happy to have moved on.

Mine is the fact we don’t wear matching outfits.

a cool thing to note, I was talking to the owner of a ‘74 911 who was there with his son that was probably 10 years old or so and when he asked him what his favorite car was, he told him mine was.

this was his ‘74, it was a bad slantnose conversion from the 80’s that he cleaned up. I dig what he did.

Friend sent me this - not my car. Not E88s but I dare say that I really love how these wheels look on the car. Anyone know who makes them? HRE maybe?

NM, think I found them:
520 Series - 520 | HRE Performance Wheels (hrewheels.com)

At my local cars and coffee I am the only 964. Many 991 & 992 Turbos or GT 2 & 3's, even a new Dakar rally car shows up. My 964 used to get almost no attention if I brought it, but now garners lots of discussion even amongst the Ferrari Pista's and new Corvette owners. I'm pleasantly surprised.

My older Turbo Exclusive is also fun to dance with, easy to maintain and drive at insane speeds (on the track of course).

What has always amazed me is the constant evolution of the brand. I have transitioned from a 67 911 that I thought was fast to a 72 S that I thought was fast to 85, 89, 90 a 997.2 C4 GTS, Turbo S and GT3 RS and even a Cayenne Turbo S as a daily driver has had superb attributes. I seem to love them all!

Porsche - There is no substitute...

At some point a GT 4 RS has to join the fun.

But for a pure driving experience, a symphony of sound and a car that comes to hand absolutely intuitively? It's the 964 that I take to play with...

Love to hear all this regarding our cars. I'll never find myself in one of the new cars so have no reference except hearing what you guys say.

Default I do love my 964 but…

When the outside temps are over 80, the modern 911’s are pretty awesome, too. The answer would be to have an air cooled and a water cooled…
