Kuro, Thanks for the driving impressions. More photos please!

Where have all the 964's gone?

This Singer vs stock 964 entertainment reminds me of the Sneetches. I happen to love em all!

Finally had my car professionally polished / coated to top off a 3 year endeavor.

Next is wheels before I tackle some interior bits.

As in what ratio?
No idea!

But, I do know the shift was gloriously smooth, snicky, and very Honda-like.
Not like a standard 964 at all, and far-far away from my 911S...

I didn’t realize Singer was putting a 6 speed in their recreations. There were a few for sale on Autotrader at a dealer, and this green one looks really cool!

That car is a Singer DLS, which is in a different league than the Singer Classic or Turbo versions. I believe there were 70 DLS’s. That particular one was owned by a friend of mine who sold it to a buyer that decided after a week, it wasn’t for him. Hence the listing at GRP. They were asking quite a bit for that car.

By far the most fun and engaging car you can drive. It is a shame few will be able to experience the best Porsche ever made. Glad I grabbed a few before they are all chopped up.

Just slightly under 2 seconds off the fastest time of friend both running in black advanced, driving GT4RS's and GT3's on Hoosier R7's vs RE71RS's but so much more fun than my GT4 which we also had there. No doubt the full blown race cars (GT4 clubsport competition) were faster by another 4 seconds on race slicks. With double the power and far less weight. I had not timed myself but my son was doing consistent 1:30s which is darn quick for such an old car. The new track surface gained us 9 seconds over our last outing there. We also switched from Cup2's the RE71RS is a superior tire IMO.

Nothing like a morning at the track. After driving the GT4 and the 964 that day I would take the 964 any day oer the GT4 for pure driving excitement and feedback.

Might not be pretty but boy is it fun to drive at speed.

Pete Tremper hung out with us in the garages. He has the car in the article. The Sh!tbox as we call it is the sister to his car along with Manny Alban who was part of the 964 club racing trio so I understand. It is amazing how capable when properly setup these can be and fast with only a little over stock HP. Take this over any modern Porsche. So much more fun to drive than the GT4 at speed.

My wife swore off driving the old cars and started in the GT4. Sadly the Gt4 lost PSM communication and all systems went down so we retired it for the weekend. She jumped back into the 964 and made friends with it again and agrees it is much more fun but a lot of work. That is her driving in white in the first photo.
