Happy wife… eventually things just become too crazy to enjoy them but if you can or if you have children who appreciate the cars… I had dinner a while back with a very big car collector. The was liquidating his car and watch collections because his children not only had no interest but also said they would never pay $30K for a service on a 250GTO or hire fabricators for parts that no longer exist. As a car enthusiast, it was very sad to hear this but as a logical person, most folks would rather have the cash than an old car that smells like gasoline and has no AC.
Cobalt- like the statement above says. I would contact Dave Tormey (enthusiast spec). If you need any help reaching him i would gladly set you up. He’s a great guy to deal with.
Dave offered to photograph my car but i am only pulling the turbo out of storage today. For a retired person i don’t have a free moment lately. I really need a good eye to do the job.
Dave and my friend Don Miliano are there only two i would trust.

i know of several huge collections being liquidated overseas. Same scenario. Although if i sell mine my son would kill my. Lol
he blames me for passing my passion for cars onto him.
@cobalt - If you don’t mind me asking, what/how do you insure a car like that when the market value just keeps rocketing? An agreed on value policy? That would be an interesting negotiation!

It is my biggest concern when I consider taking it out for a drive. I am always upping the cars agreed value which is getting expensive. There are 2 main concerns when insuring; one is total loss which means replacement value and hopefully that will not be the case. Finding another is clearly limited since the color is as important to me as the car itself. The other is diminished value in case of a lesser incident. The insurance companies don't like high numbers on what might be a moment in time and can change either way. Once they agree to a higher value they know they can't lower it without resistance. So they always push back.
I insure it for a healthy amount. Although I have to consider what I have into it vs market value. There is only the one other in my combo so odds of me finding a true replacement are slim to none. I am more concerned over a small scratch than I am anything else. The car is only original once. That is why I now drive my other cars far more often which is upsetting but I do enjoy it when I drive it and all this goes out the window when the boost kicks in and I am having fun. Some things are what they are and you can't cry over it. I bought all my cars because I liked them and never as an investment. As they say, tomorrow never knows. If push comes to shove there are lawyers that take care of such things.
