Been without for a while........ car was having everything done from new sunroof felt to bushings all around. First morning I had the car back, I took to the hills!
and again, sorry for not being clear about who i was asking about the wheels, they really are goood looking...and have no idea where they are from...so...
Put another 250 miles on the Targa this weekend bombing around the inland San DIego canyons with some friends. What a blast and as always the car seems to run better after the drive.
We have had some amazingly nice days these past few weeks. Today, looking like one of the last good ones, I had to go for an end of season ride. Car ran great and the boost loved the cool temps.
Had a few pre hibernation things to take care of but after taking these photos somehow my son talked me into letting him drive the beast. He used to call it the turbo Booosssht from the back seat as a boy. Up until today the car has been off limits. It was great to see his first experience behind the wheel. He is around and drives many exotics at his work and drives a tuned 981CS. He told me after the drive, if I ever sell it he would kill me LOL. We talked about the old school limitations and he could care less. The experience was like none other for him and said it doesn't need to be any better at what it does. Don't tell me the younger generation doesn't understand the allure of nostalgia. While I was working on the car a few people asked if they could just open and shut the door. A sound they recall from their air-cooled days now driving new Porsche's.
My sons familiar with the C2 but it has been awhile so the floor pedals still took a second but when the boost came on he was just in awe of the acceleration and the sound of the WG dump pipe singing. Something truly special about these cars that just can't be replicated these days. Looks + Experience = priceless.
