Default Possible wheel choices for 964

Ok, gang, my 18k mile 90 cab has arrived. It is beyond perfect and I am just a little bit **** when it comes to Porsche's so that is saying alot. Anyway, it has the D-90's on it, but the tires need replacing, so of course, my mind starts thinking about just slapping new wheels too.

I have a set of 8X16, 9X16, BBS RS 3 pieces, that are in very good shape, so that is an option, but I have those on my 968 cab too, so I don't want to overkill that wheel.

I am opinions on what looks best on the 964 since this is my first one, I have my opinions on all my others, but this is virgin territory.

Thank you in advance for the time to respond, I appreciate the help.

S. Haynes

You can't go wrong with a set of Cup I's and it would also be in keeping with the originality of the car.

I like these Speedlines (look-a-likes) a lot, original they seem to be very expensive.

On request of Marc A. I confirm that the above rims are replica's just like the one here below. I was more referring to looks than anything else. Marc A., you must be under a lot of stress to react the way you did in your now deleted post.

Kris - I like the look of those rims too - replicas or not. Not many people can afford the real Speedlines (if you can find them).

I'd put in a vote for Fikse Mach V - I'm saving up my allowance for a set of these.

Cup I are the best looking wheel on NB 964s, imho. Just great looking wheels, and tons of tires available for 9x7x17s. On WB the 18" 3 piece are great a la 3.6T, but the 17" Cups are my vote. I love 964s (hence my user name), even though I drive a boring 993

Any wheel that is too "busy" takes away from the clean lines of the car. That's why the cup wheels are so great - simple, clean design that fits the car. None of these other suggestions look bad, but complicated designs are distracting.

Cup 1s look the best imo -- tons of tires, as noted.

Check out the Gemballa LeMans wheel for a Cup1/993RS style one piece 18 that is unfussy and ever so easy to keep clean. They look great on a 993 as well.

I have a set of 16 inch BBS RS 3 Pieces for sale now, since I think I may go Cup 1's with maybe the spokes painted or something interesting.
