What are the screw threads for the oxygen sensor
I've removed an oxygen sensor from my catalytic converter and some thread material was left behind in the cat. I need to clean out the threads and need to know what the thread is so that I can get a proper tap or have a machine shop do it for me.
Any one know what the thread is for the oxygen sensor tap in the catalytic converter?
Thanks,
Dave

"Yeah, that's what I figured, too, but I don't have any way to check it"
I'll check when I get home . Report back to ya tues .
"By the way, what does the 1.5 represent? Is this the number of mm per thread?"
Number of threads per mm , I think .

Indycam,
Thanks. I have the catalytic converter out to a machine shop; a connection through my father-in-law. We expect they'll be able to clean up the threads. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for your input.
Cheers,
Dave

Bill,
I'm not sure if they are a pipe thread, or not. My father-in-law brought the cat to a machine shop while I was away on business. I think he mentioned that the threads were tapered, but he also mentioned the tap running smoothly through the threads once the bit of stuck material cracked free leading me to believe they were straight threads.
I'll check with him later and post back when I learn.
Cheers,
Dave
