Default oil leak!! UPDATE FIXED BUT have another issue now!!

hey guys, today, i noticed a huge puddle under the car after 100 mile drive, right behind the passenger wheel. took a look down there, and boy there was oil everywhere. so after the car cooled down, i took the exhaust out and cleaned up everything . after running the car for 1 min, i took a look back. now i never heard of this one before, right up front from the valve cover there is kind of a circle may be right in the bottom of the power steering pump ... thats where my leak is coming from. does anyone know what kind of seal or whats in there??
thanks in advance

Sounds like the power steering pump shaft seal. Just had mine repaired. Ouch.

If you do it yourself it's about $5 in parts - an o-ring, and a camshaft seal is all that's needed; Pelican parts sells both; vertex in your neighborhood probably does, too.

I am about 1/2 way through doing this myself. Have everything off and will repace O ring and seal and put everything back together. I did not need any special tools. Porsche recommends using a special tool to hold the lower sproket in place so that you can remove the cam shaft bolt, but I found that - with the car secured and in gear - that I could loosen the bolt without having to secure the sproket. You will need a good deal of patience, go-jo hand cleaner, and persistence. Threads by Garrett376 and Porschedude really helped me. Search on "Porschedude" and "power steering" to see these threads. Don't remove the PSP and do remove the oil line that runs in front of the PSP cover.

well, i finally finished fixing the leak, i can tell you it was not easy, removing the seal was so hard that it took me about 7 hours and a dozen scratches to remove it. i want to thank garrett376 for his phone assistance which helped me finish. now my car is now 99% dry.
now after starting the car i noticed that my steering wheel is making a small click everytime i turn the wheel, it feels like its loose. i dont think there is a relation between the job i did and the steering wheel?? right?? and does anyone know what is the problem??
by the way, the seal was 25$ from the dealer and i didnt use the special tool.
thanks in advance
