Nope - the upload hard-drives are purged every 6 months or so and once it is gone....it is gone.

The directions were impeccable. I added the Pelican reinforceing plates, with not trouble. Unfortunatly, the interior sheet metal was so loose and torn, it did no good. I considered the epoxy route, but was afraid it would not last due to oil/grease. Instead, I bought two Stainless Sreel fender washers (1 1/2") and clipped the tops off of both. I then removed the bolts and added these to the outside of the door. I replaced the bolts, snd snugged them down. No clearance issues, it looks good and the door works as it should. Pictures did not come out, but I'll try again this weekend.

I followed this very helpful write up and changed my door retention straps including reinforcement plates without any troubles.
Thanks for a great write up.

When installing the new strap pins, I am unable to get them to go all the way down as per the factory installation.
They are sitting as per the picture below.

Any tips on getting the pin all the way in?
Or is it OK to leave them like this?

mine were the same, just file off the ridges at on the pin, to make it slide in, then fit the circlip to stop it working out. File the ridges down gradually and try it to se when it fits correctly.

OK great, thanks for this.
I'll try filing the ridges down a little like you advised.

Anybody have the updated partnumbers for the reinforcement kit? I'd like to get it for my 964.

Just updating this thread with some additional steps (cutting & welding) that might be required if the metal tears inside the door.

Seriously, thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to fab a patch and rivet it in, but would rather have something more permanent.

What was your process for forming the repair patch? Kind of seems like it was from a donor door.

Well shoot. Wish I had seen this thread a few months ago when I had my driver side door apart to fix the spinning lock tumbler. Could have replaced the strap and eliminated the annoying "click" at the same time.

I was super lucky that (Automobile Associates) had the innards from a damaged door available to cut the donor piece from.

Sorry to bump an old thread. Other than hammering a way at the pin in order to remove from the door. Is there an easier/other way to do this? I was trying to work on mine yesterday but the pin barely moved. Thanks in advance for any tips you can offer.

Don't use a hammer, the pin is held in place by a small c-clip. See #16 below.

Thanks for the reply. I removed that clip and it still wouldn't move i sprayed it down with penetrating fluid so hopefully that may loosen it up by the time I get home.
