Robert,

Have read about your car many years ago in "Porsche 911 Road Cars" by Dennis Adler(pp 85-92). The book claims that the GS America took 3 years to complete, and involved huge customisation by the Special Wishes Department, being the most extensively custom built 911 ever produced by that Department. Whilst I obviously cannot attest to the accuracy of the claims in that book, I cant help but feel that all the further customisation that you have since done to the car, whilst truly incredible, has in some way diluted a truly remarkable piece of Porsche history....

Having said that, the amazing work that you have done to this car in a perverse way also enhances its appeal as far as I am concerned. Keep up the commentary, and please do let us see the finished product soon!!!

Cant wait to see the finished project.

What were the upgrades to the transmission?

The Dennis Adler book claims that the original sticker for the GS America may have been in the vicinity of USD250,000.... and that doesn't even include what Robert has since done to his amazing car....

So when are you going to call me again about the engine Robert? We have been beavering away behind the scenes since the last time we talked and now have a collection of highly advanced 9m engine products under development that even Porsche would be in awe of. You should get in touch.

Thank you Colin. But as the engine is Porsche I would not want to disturb it.

Robert, are you going to crash test the car when it's done?

Will you be doing the open house to see the car? I know that a few years back you were thinking about it.

Well, in the middle of the completion of Humpty Dumpty, I had to take a bit of time (i.e., almost three years) off for a number of more important matters (one death, one almost death, serving certain people overseas and at home, other Cartridge work, etc.), but, to paraphrase "I'm back". The last four parts are in production as I write this and should be completed my mid June (2008) and then a few days to assemble and, voilà, phase one is complete.

Great news,

Are we still to presume you are coming over this side of the pond in autumn?

Ok,

Robert, give me the heads up on when and where and I'll endeavour to arrange a get together around wherever you're staying.

Regards

I'll certainly try and be there. Although the last week in June might be difficult - but I would like to meet the guy who calls all that work "phase one"!
