I am a newbie here. Spent the last three years on PPBB as a Boxster owner. I just had Eibach springs installed last Thursday. I love them. You can see by my Avatar that it lowers the car to just about Euro Specs. According to spring specs (going by memory so I may be off a bit) the H&R lower the front 1.5in and the rear by 1 in. Eibachs are 1.3 and 1in respectively. I don't know if the 993 springs have the right spring rate though. Good Luck!

Matt

Matt, your car looks great (how bout a bigger pic!)!!!

Spring rates not the problem, in fact,. it feels very comfortable. Its the LOWERING that is too extreme.

Just ordered new H&R's (part# 29834) from www.morepowerracing.com .

Cost total of $304.95 ($299, no tax, free shipping, $5.95 handling fee)

I've no experience with these guys so we'll see how it goes. BTW, eshocks was NOT a good experience for the struts and I could NOT happily recommend them (not to be confused with shox.com whom I am aware of but I've never used!)

Hopefully I'll be back in business next week!

Yup, those are the ones. Your going to love them!

PS, After this disaster you should really consider banning "snowpoet" from making any future purchases.

Howard,

Thanks. I have not had a chance to take many pictures. Here are two that hopefully are fairly clear. I am loving the 964. I just sold my Boxster. It was a nice car, but it wasn't a Carrera. I had been reading all the recent articles saying how the 964s are currently under valued, and so inspired the purchase. I am glad I made the switch. I love the car. I just installed some racing pedals this evening.

It's a shame that you have to repeat the job. Second time will undoubtably be quicker. Looks like you got a pretty good price on the springs though.

By the way, we had trouble getting the toe-in in the rear to spec during alignment. Mine are out by about two tenths of a degree. We'll probably try again in a month or two. I also have a little squeek from drivers side rear spring. A common problem when lowering. I'll have to have them take another look at that as well.

Cheers!

I love the ride now though...It's firm and handles awesome.

92 C2 ---- It's my new best friend ---- to my wife's dismay

Really a cool car. I originally set out to purchase an 87 - 89 cab, but the articles I read about the 964 changed my mind. I had hoped to find one with around 50k miles, but as I read and researched I came to understand that a higher mileage car with a great history might actually be a better purchase. The car has 86k on it, but I have every service receipt since new. It was a 2nd owner car, and had $22,600 in service records from 1992 to 2004. The records are amazing.

I actually had a Boxster and a 328GTS at the same time. I sold them both on E-bay in a matter of a week. This made my wife happy since we just had baby number 2, but it left me feeling empty. I was looking at the M3 and M5, but I really missed the Porsche; and without the Ferrari I had nothing to dump money into. Fortunately I came out even on the Boxster which allowed me to use the money from the Ferrari to buy the 964 and Audi S4. A pretty good deal really. In the end the 964 is way more fun than the Ferrari, and a hell of a lot less fragile. It garners less attention than the Ferrari, but it's more fun to drive. Probably more than you wanted to know, but I plan to be a regular here on the board and how else do you get to know one another - right.

Anxious to hear about the springs. Did you take any photos of the low rider?

Aw, come on, Howard. A few pics would compliment your new avatar. There's nothing like a Syndrome in action!
