Default BBS E87 / E88 Wheel Delays?

Is anyone else experiencing massive delays on BBS wheel orders? I prepaid Butzigear for some custom-offset 964 E87 BBS wheels back in May 2020. Still haven't received them. I ordered them from David Espisito based on feedback here but hard to believe 14+ months is all supply-chain related....

that's a long delay, but literally every material across every range seems to be low in quantity. supply chains are simply empty and attempting to ramp up again.

I would trust Dave's word, he's been around a long time. I'm in the wheel business and there are definitely supply chain issues.

Two month delay is what I've been told by two reputable sources.

14+ months is BS.

He was lucky then. All depends on part numbers of centers required

Hi John, while I am not online much, a client of mine forwarded this thread to me this morning. I have also been forwarded and have seen your Facebook group posts where you mention me and my business and have used our hashtag to make it searchable.

I take my business very seriously and hope that your intentions aren’t malicious, because it can come across that way. My business and my work are my passion. My business is also my livelihood and that of my friend/technician Luke. We are positive, passionate, Porsche people and don’t need any negativity, especially over something that is out of our control - such as parts delays. We bust our butts day in / day out to help our clients build, maintain, upgrade and enjoy some of the best Porsches around the world. That’s why we are here!

We have been building and customizing BBS wheels for clients around the world for over 20 years. We worked with BBS to manufacture custom parts / centers that allow for maximized lip sizes on Porsche models, we created smooth, billet center cap adapters to incorporate center caps on motorsport wheels and the list goes on. We love this stuff!

Jose's 964 in Tx - Custom - ButziGear signature Satin black/Hi-gloss black with ButziGear billet aluminum seamless center cap adapters and BBS caps.

As I and others have explained, you are correct that there are massive delays in the manufacturing of wheel parts and the delivery of wheels. This has been something that we have experienced before the pandemic, though it is now worse than ever. As I have explained to you and others before, yes, we are still waiting on parts to build your wheels as well as several other sets for other clients and even a set for my own 964!

John and everyone that has BBSs on order, I’m sorry for the delays, but we will hopefully see more parts trickle in from Germany soon. The wheels are the best, and we will enjoy them when they do arrive.

Thank you,

David Esposito

I've heard there are some crazy delays.
I got lucky a couple of months ago when I ordered mine. I believe the centers were already in hand - so ordering the barrels and lips was no issue.
These are amazing wheels. They are totally worth the wait. Although I don't think I could be so patient, I'm renovating my home right now and seeing delays in everything. Just another effect of the global pandemic.

David, I may be ordering the centre caps soon - although I'm very split on whether to run them or not... I love the raw look!

Simply put, I was told I would get the wheels in 10 days, which is why I paid in full and placed the order in the first place. 14 months later I still have nothing, including barely any communication from the seller. Not sure why I'm the bad-guy. Appreciate other people jumping in, as it's clear now that while some people have gotten their BBS wheels, broadly-speaking BBS Motorsport is very behind.

Dave also gave me a shorter timeline which is why i was a little annoyed. At the same time the delays are technically not his fault. It's a very frustrating situation.

Like most issues, transparent and frequent communication seems like it would have prevented this thread.

David at Butzigear is one of the most honest knowledgeable people to buy from. I wouldn't be worried. You are not getting scammed. I think MANY people including myself have told you BBS is backordered on facebook. No need to make numerous threads.
